Crowd for sat

The ticket office is open 10AM until kick off selling tickets but you need a purchase history.

BTW our lowest crowd this season was 27,580 against Blackpool. Night match which are always lower crowds.

If we get more than that it's still a good effort. We only had one crowd over 30K last season!

Hopefully a few more take the plunge tomorrow!

I find it strange, that two of the biggest games we've played in recent years, have attracted such low attendences in comparison to other attendences, in less meaningful games played during the same period.

These games being the Man Utd semi in 2014 and Portsmouth tomorrow.

Nobody can deny we have great support as our averages prove. However, for big games, bizarrely loads go missing....

On Sky, in the evening, ticket cost not included as part of the season ticket, it won't be that hard to fatham why the attendance is down whether you are angry about it or not.

Hmmmm, nice try, virtually all 45,000 fans we took to Wembley stayed in London hotels on the Saturday which even at their cheapest are more expensive than Sunderland hotels. Similarly if we go to Wembley again in a couple of weeks the same will happen.....Its bull shit, they are not going because they aren't arsed, plenty on here admitting it.
Muffin man. A question if I may, and it's not criticism per se. But I think UNLESS you go to every game, home and away, and to the pre-season friendlies then you have to be very careful about criticising other supporters as your support (if there are no excuses for not going) is de facto qualified.

People have given up on us this season it is clear as day. I haven't
People are getting sick of football in general and the shit they have watched this season. I haven't
People are using the most mental excuses I have ever heard. I haven't.

Whether it is 25k or 40k it really doesn't matter to me as I will be supporting the lads from the first to last whistle and we play better in front of a crowd who cares and supports rather than show up 10 mins late, head down for a pint after 20 mins and leave on 81 mins.
I think people are just a bit sick of losing. Not so much from this season, but they can’t see past not winning the playoffs on 4 previous occasions, and losing on the last 6? visits to Wembley. Having missed out on automatic promotion the general consensus has been oh well that’s that then.

I know we’re a bit out of form, but we’re 3 games away from achieving the goal we started with. Even then we probably only need to win 2 out of 3. I’m not confident but still have hope. These games are massive in regard to the long term future of SAFC. By the end of the month we can be back in the championship pretty much debt free which is not a bad starting point for the real rebuild.

Checkatrade was on TV, the tickets were twice the price and we had to travel to London and most stayed in hotels.......Its really hard to fathom given this is a much bigger game and is only £20.

Well have a season ticket and done a couple of away games when gone to general sale, when havent gone to away games have bought game via SAFSEE........We are talking about fans who are openly saying they just cant be arsed to go because they think the team is crap, what kind of fan misses a promotion play off game in those circumstances?

Do you actually seriously believe that attending this home game first leg play off is the same as attending a cup final game at wembley?

It isn't to the majority of people, not even just to Sunderland fans, I'd put a large bet down that most football fans would put more effort into attending a wembley cup final game than a first leg play off home game.

This game may have a bigger consequence but that doesn't change whether someone sits at home watching it on Sky or not. We were last at Wembley 5 years ago. We were last at the SOL about 14 days ago.

However angry you want to be about that fact we aren't hitting 30k+, none of our cup games at home this season have had large crowds and a large number of our league games at home have failed to get 30K.

It's in the evening, on TV and people have to pay additional money. As I said however angry you want to get, it has a fairly obvious reason for why the numbers aren't that high.
