i wouldnt be so sure. they barely get that at the moment when fighting at the right end of the championship. give them a full calendar year with no wins at home, double relegation, an underwhelming season in L1, a team with that could bore a glass eye to sleep, and form of one win in last 7, and i think every club in the country would be thankful to get 25k
I admire your commitment, I do a 640 mile round trip occasionally, but distance is also directly related to costs and disposable income, of which you plainly have more than a lot of people for whom distance/cost is a major reason. It's £20 for a match ticket, and circa £90 petrol plus food etc.
On another issue, It's also related to Family commitments too, as could be seen by the woman today whinging on TV about her old man taking their family into debt for attendance at the Champions League final.
They would be a ‘fan.’ I’ve given my reasoning earlier in the thread. I only got into this conversation through boredom anyway.I don't put much stock into the terms 'fan' and 'supporter' tbh.
Meanings of words change, over the years, and these are good examples.
A Sunderland born & bred ex-SC exile, in Australia may not be a fanatic or financially support the club ...
... what would you call them?
If they are just as loyal as a ST holder yet end up paying more for match tickets then they should really just buy a ST.

I'll leave it here as its pointless debating it any further given I think you're talking platinum plated bollocksMate its about priorities, Im a Suddicker, Im certainly not loaded but as an SAFC fan there is no chance I could miss a play off semi final if I lived in the City. If I had to I would eat beans on toast for the week and spend the £20 I saved on scran on going to the match.
I think its more the people who can afford it but choose to sit in the boozer allday and cant be arsed to go over. Then they are desperate for a final ticket if we get there. It's not bollocks at all. I've been in the position where I couldn't afford it. Just count yourself lucky you can.
Don't know about " huge" percentage, but some people drop off easily

Basically why I’m not going in a nutshell. I’ve spent enough this season on watching dross.Im not going because i dont want to .we are absolutely filth to watch and i dont fancy wasting more money than i already have watching that shit
Hope people understand
I’ll be there just as I have been all season, and last, and the one before etc. You're a shit fan in my opinion.
I understand that some people can't make it or can't afford it but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.

you said, but if you're able to go and choosing not to cause you're annoyed at the ticket price or annoyed we didn't finish top two or whatever then you're a shit fan who isn't really supporting the team.Huh? That isn’t what I said at all, and he’d be a supporter because he has supported the club financially, just not one who is currently ‘supporting.’ Re-read what I actually said.
You’ve changed the goalposts here...So, not a Sunderland supporter despite the money they've previously put onto the club.
So now your theoretical person who previously didn’t support the club financially, but has now supported the club financially, would be both a fan and a supporter who isn’t currently supporting the club financially, so let’s still go with fan. Hope this helps.I don't put much stock into the terms 'fan' and 'supporter' tbh.

That's fair enough. To suggest it's about priorities though and being told safc should be a priority when it comes to finances is weapons grade horse shitI think its more the people who can afford it but choose to sit in the boozer allday and cant be arsed to go over. The ground should be nearly full i dont understand some of our “fans”
We are presently tracking that we have lost 40% of the fans that were at Wembley?
