What the hell is durham cathedral doing on mag flag

The Durham SAFC fans can put what they want on a flag. Anything that represents the fans as a whole (like your surfer) should reference the city and the club and that's it. Or else where do you draw the line. I'd be shocked if Sunderland fans put Durham cathedral on a flag , and its more ours than yours if anything. In reality, it's no ones to put on a football flag other than Durham city fc.

We have got a supporters association in London with 100s of active members, wouldn't go round putting big Ben on a surfer at the SOL and I'm sure the London SA understand that

Yet again your fans are f***ing tragic and you cant bring yourself to admit it

As shite as we are on the pitch, we'll never be as utterly moronic as yous off it

All fans flags represent the club to an extent tbf if you're going to carry that logic. With regards your example, I couldn't care less tbh. Although it would be quite fitting considering Marsden Rock is also a crumbling mess these days.

The reasoning behind it is that about half of the merchandise sold by Wor Flags goes to DH postcodes so they felt representation was needed.
A lot of Sunderland fans have NE postcodes so by your logic we should put some Newcastle landmarks on our flags to represent them? Bit of a stupid argument really.

Aye, if they are doing a significant amount of the funding. Why not?

We probably should have had other stuff on, aye.

Surprised it's generated this much fewm though, considering the previously mentioned similar proximities. I expect you would be the same if it appeared on a similar SAFC flag?

Fewm. Utter utter shite patter. Read the thread. More laughing at our geographically challenged mag neighbours

I’d say this just about sums up the whole issue.

I have. It's the usual drivel about strongholds, cabals of people determined to do down the good people of Sunderland by any means and bandwagon filthy Durham mags.

The place is more or less equidistant between both cities yet for some reason it's absurd that we'd have a significant section of our support from there.

 Just give it up man.

Is it the size that matters? It's been funded near enough 50% by our Durham supporterbase. If it was a smaller flag that said 'Durham Mags' and had the cathedral on, would that be okay?

Can I at least use a 'soft centre, not what it was' analogy?
Thinking about it, Durham Cathedral is probably correct for your lot.

An ancient cathedral (on a hill) full of blind, worshippers who refuse to see anything wrong with their messiah. Although Jesus could probably have done better than 10th place.

Whilst it’s laughable one level, their gerrymandering attempts emphasise the importance of getting back to the top flight asap, as the slightly fascistic design shows they’ll think nothing of trying extend their lebensraum whilst we’re so marginalised.

Doubt it, Rafa is way more of a messiah than that f***ing fraud.

It’s the fact that you are called Newcastle United. No mention of Whitley Bay or Durham. It doesn’t annoy me, I just find it toe curling embarrassing and laughable. I can’t believe you are still arguing the point to be honest, perhaps you should go out for the day and go for a walk: Durham is quite nice for that

Nee one is saying that Durham isnt allowed Newcastle fans. It's the putting of the cathedral on the flag that seems to suggest 'Durham is part of Newcastle '. Its sad as fuck. Why not put the bridge on and the actual castle , even the sage, Baltic etc.. but Spanish City ? It's just more bizarre behaviour to add to the catalogue of mentallness which now resembles the Encyclopdia Brittanica in girth

So much heartbreak over a flag. Some people really need to get a life.

Sad as fuck.

No heartbreak at all. Just laughing at them lot (again).

Make no bones about it. This was nowt to do with funding by Durham Mags... it was all to do with inflated egos about owning the North East.

You get the impression that they hate the fact that the magnificent Cathedral is even loosely related to Sunderland via Wearside.
