What the hell is durham cathedral doing on mag flag

We probably should have had other stuff on, aye.

Surprised it's generated this much fewm though, considering the previously mentioned similar proximities. I expect you would be the same if it appeared on a similar SAFC flag?

Absolutely, bottom line is both clubs have enough in their own heritage to populate flags without utilising landmarks in other cities. I also think the efforts by both sets of fans in terms of flags/atmosphere is positive

Sunderland is still in County Durham. tyne and Wear isn't a County it's a metropolitan county, mainly formed because the mags couldn't afford to build the metro themselves and needed our wealth to build it, they promised the metro would extend to Sunderland using the Alexandra Bridge upper deck to do this then promptly had the access arches to the northern end of the bridge demolished which meant it couldn't be used! Look at what has been built on tyneside compared to what has been built on Wearside since tyne and Wear was formed. We've been robbed, we want Sexit, Sunderland out of t&W. We are County Durham, always have been always will be.
Roger Whittaker is/was a South African isn't/wasn't he?

aye, not only that though, man never walked on the moon, the residents of buckingham palace ordered the assassination of princess diana, the yanks obliterated the two towers and elvis is alive and well and belting out the hits.
the angst on this thread is hilarious, it's the message board equivalent of an evanescence album.
keep up the good work boys!

:)

Its f***ing huge like, must have cost a fortune and took a hell of a lot of organisation, but it looks utter shite ..

It reminds me of what we would come up with on Microsoft PowerPoint in I.C.T in year 7 at comp. Some wacky, edgy, generic, barely understandable text surrounded by clip art cut and paste images off the internet that were just hoyed in and enlarged, rotated, cropped and plonked anywhere.

It would be fine on a small supporters branch type flag for either side. Imagine Sunderland suddenly producing a massive flag with Marsden Rock on, would look ridiculous unless it was the Shields branch that had it

Nah, just Bamburgh Castle and The Tees Barrage which both formed part of your 2018 WC bid literature..

Radged how much fewm this has set up, there isn't much difference in the distance between the SOL/Durham Cathedral and St James'/Durham Cathedral.

Maybe we should have a playoff for the Durham Cup or whatever you want to call it
TBF There isn't much difference in the distance between the SOL/ The Statue of Liberty and St James' / The Statue of Liberty . The only difference being that we wouldn't claim it as our own.

Wasn't aware that this flag was club funded?

I'm sure there are some mentions of Durham being a STRONGHOLD! of Sunderland fans. If that's not claiming something, I don't know what is tbh.

It's presented as representing the club though. Would you not find it crackers if we put the Marsden Rock on a huge surfer flags?

All fans flags represent the club to an extent tbf if you're going to carry that logic. With regards your example, I couldn't care less tbh. Although it would be quite fitting considering Marsden Rock is also a crumbling mess these days.

The reasoning behind it is that about half of the merchandise sold by Wor Flags goes to DH postcodes so they felt representation was needed.

I think putting it on a git big flag and displaying it at football match would be a better example mesel like .

The Durham SAFC fans can put what they want on a flag. Anything that represents the fans as a whole (like your surfer) should reference the city and the club and that's it. Or else where do you draw the line. I'd be shocked if Sunderland fans put Durham cathedral on a flag , and its more ours than yours if anything. In reality, it's no ones to put on a football flag other than Durham city fc.

We have got a supporters association in London with 100s of active members, wouldn't go round putting big Ben on a surfer at the SOL and I'm sure the London SA understand that

Yet again your fans are f***ing tragic and you cant bring yourself to admit it

As shite as we are on the pitch, we'll never be as utterly moronic as yous off it

The reasoning behind it is they’re f***ing tedious arseholes. If they wanted representation of durham mags they should have simply put a bandwagon on with keegan on the side.
