Why would a multi-billion dollar industry not have researchers and academics working in the area?

He is actually a senior lecturer in Accounting at University of Liverpool (a Russell Group University). I think he just finds it easier to say lecturer in football finance. He teaches a final year option called Football Finance and also an MBA class in Football Finance. Liverpool also has a very well regarded MBA in Football Industries and many of its alumni occupy top positions in football admin around the world. Follow his twitter feed and you will see the work he puts into football finance. He also has a book coming out and from the bits I have read, it is fantastic.

who said he wasnt offered a new deal in the summer? he was offered one in spring 2018, and then from september onwards...he will have been on holiday in july..
and no one was getting deals in june...jack ross must be the worst judge of a football player in the uk if he thought maja less talented than wyke..if he is that bad at it, im worried for the future of the club, and suggest we get someone who is a better judge of a player..

You’ve said all year we couldn’t offer Maja a decent deal as we didn’t know how good he was, no Ross is a bad judge n he should have :lol:

They’ll go hard in the summer on recruitment to get us out this league if we don’t get through the play offs.

My understanding is the parachute payment is a bit of a buffer but they can dip in to it to spend if needs be. I think they’ll use a few million of it to get a good core of players in.

well we didnt know maja was going to be bordeux standard..no one did..but it should have been apparent he was already league one standard by the time they signed wyke....thats why he was offered league one deal in september..borodeux level deal in january..

I suspect you are being sarcastic. The echo wanted a sound bite and he gave one. Likewise he provides soundbites for BBC, ESPN, Wall Street Journal.....I can assure you he is extremely knowledgeable of football finances, has a soft spot for Sunderland and dislikes the mags (not as much as Palace).
 
Disgrace that a total chancer like Bain was allowed anywhere near our club. Even worse is the fact that he got a massive payoff. What an enormous clusterfuck.
