It’s a small ground. Absent the Milton End, which has to be given to the away team if they have a big following, the ground is effectively sold out with season tickets. If the away following is small there’s always a block left empty for segregation so capacity is reduced further.
What I’m saying is, in the circumstances the average gate couldn’t be much higher.

I chat with Pompey fans every day and it's strange to see they want to hang on to a relic like Fratton Park. A few were moaning about the quality of the beam back on the small screen from 100 yards down the pitch yesterday. We could have a beam back in the bars around the SoL and it would have been seen in better quality/seen by more people in a much more customer friendly enviroment.

And a few Pompey fans will tell us we're the backward Northerners?

I nearly sent you a PM to see if you wanted to watch the beam-back - couldn't get up to the game due to something in the morning but could have got across! Something about them in the past 2 games really has me wondering where it all went wrong for them, luckily for the xmas game we had you leading us to the ground and away from the wannabe Millwall

I would have politely you turned you down mate. I'd only ever watch SAFC at FP if they were playing there in the flesh.

Sadly, the ship has long since sailed for a brand new, modern Fratton Park.

Every time land was available, the owners were crooks. And when the owners weren’t crooks, the council were. Years pass, and now there is no room left on the island.

Redevelopment will happen soon - starting with the Milton End. But the club has been held back for far too long by shysters and thieves. A shame.

Rose tinted glasses and that. 22k could never get the atmosphere that 50k+ could in Roker. It was like watching a slow death for people like me who grew up with that tapering capacity.

I worked with a Pompey fan about 15 years ago and when you were about to win The Championship weren't you supposed to be rotating the pitch and redeveloping?
