I'm over the whole thing tbh.. I was right under it all for the Coventry game and was livid at the time, the club aren't liable for what happened as a result of their fans but surely they are liable for the Policing and stewarding, after all the club employ them.

But having said that I'm confident the club won't let such a situation of that magnitude happen again. They could do with bringing out a final statement on it and putting it to bed, once they do that it's time the disgruntled fans move on and put it to bed themselves.

I'm not, I'm still f***ing steaming about it. The fact that their shit club then tried to apportion some of the blame on SAFC for housing their travelling zoo above us, just reinforces my prejudice against this steaming pile of turd of a club.

If you see folk chucking stuff and getting away with it then that's when more folk will think 'ill do this too - no repercussions'
However if they arrested the first then surely that would be a deterrent?
I'm disgusted with the polices attitude to this tbh.

Precisely this. The club have a responsibility for the safety of every person they allow into the ground. Can’t believe idiots on here are standing up for the club. Also they have cells at the ground which means the police aren’t taken out of action for long following an arrest.

If they’d have arrested the few scroats at the front after the first incident it never would have escalated like it did. The club hold responsibility for this and Steve Neill even accepted this, yet imbeciles in our fans can’t understand this. Our club was a disgrace that day, as was the Northumbrian Police and it’ll take a lot more than a few phone calls to make people forget this.

The club haven’t even issued a public apology to its own fans, the level of contempt for its own fans in this is extraordinary and I won’t be returning next season at this rate

Aye but that's their club. They were never going to be admitting full responsibility. Fair enough be pissed off at their club, not ours. As I've said the club need to come out with a final statement and hopefully they've done enough action to put it to bed.

I sent one of the emails to customer liasson which is self explanatory I think that they should pass it on to the relevant people. The fans should have been moved and the game stopped but this would have cost money which is the be all and end all of the owners. The chief steward came to talk to me at the Doncaster game and said I should have give him my name and telephone number as other fans had and they had been given entry into the Blacks Bar for that game I said I wasn't interested in a bribe I would have liked a proper response personally and publicly. As for people saying this was a one off incident both the Leeds and the Middlesbrough games there were problems. If they don't move the away fans there should be fine mesh netting put up so nothing can rain down on us. I am still fuming over this two weeks on and the silence from the club really annoys me to the point I am thinking of cancelling and I have not taken this decision lightly as I went to my first match in the early sixties.

That’s sad to read, you seem to have gone back a bit since the call from a week or so back. What happened?

This morning I received a phone call from Steve Neill the clubs Chief Safety Officer, to discuss the observations and issues that I highlighted in my email sent on Monday evening.

Just wanted to note my praise for the way the club have handled the aftermath thus far. They’ve been very forthcoming and open with myself and others that have spoken to them and they appear to have reacted to the problems and put things in place to stop it happening again. For this, they deserve a lot of praise.

Just thought I’d share his to you all incase it’s of any interest to anyone, or helps others, particularly the young dads among us, to be more confident of taking the young ones next week or to any future games.

My post was aimed full at Coventry Shitty.

I was out with a lad last night who sits below the away fans and has since they were moved up there. He said he's never seen anything like it before, not even from the Mags. He said it was constant from start to finish.

With any luck the fuckers will go bust if we're still in this league next season.

Radio silence from the club. Think today will be a big day for the club, as a lot, myself included, are anticipating a lot more trouble based on a combination of Coventry and Wembley. Let’s see how the club handle this. Should be a discussion better had after today’s match one way or the other

This is one of the best posts I’ve read on here in a while. They’ve went round trying to bribe everyone and keep it quiet which I think is even worse than the inaction of 2 weeks ago. I think today could be Groundhog Day for a lot of fans, as there is a full expectation of a repeat performance from a set of fans that couldn’t behave themselves or conduct themselves properly at Wembley, so we harness no expectation that it will happen again.

I haven’t been around as long as you, but I’ve had my seat in the north stand since I was 8, under Peter Reid and I am very much in the same position as yourself, as I am reluctant to move my seat (don’t see why I should), but I’m also not happy with sitting under the away fans anymore, especially if we don’t get promotion and are stuck under some of the teams of this season for another year.
