Mates coming over from Europe this weekend and staying there tonight and tomorrow before travelling down for the match.

What’s there to do (aside from the overpriced castle) and also can anyone recommend decent places to drink/ eat?

Cheers in advance,

I found Edinburgh the hardest place in the world to watch an England match.

All I've got to say

I’m here at moment with work went to the Golf Tavern last night was a canny pub.

Had loads of screens for the football, done canny food and wasn’t that expensive.

Just off Bruntsfield place as staying at the Best Western hotel which is also very nice.

The little Street they based Diagon alley off in Harry Potter is class, someone else will be along soon to tell you its name. Leads to loads of nice restaurants and bars. There's a hog roast sandwich place that is belting down near Holyrood which is worth a look. Again, the name escapes me. Sorry!

From Europe?

Moldova?

I went in February for the day.

I’ve been before drinking on a night but wanted to see it properly so wandered around and it was great went up to the castle but didn’t go in, there’s a wool mill nearby that was free where they make kilts and the like, walked down the Royal Mile and it was really nice.

It’s only a small city so bars will be easy enough to find..

childhood museum (just past Tron Kirk) is free on the royal mile. camera obscura (top of royal mile) costs but not that much and the royal yacht down Leith is canny

That covers about 99% of Edinburgh.
