Looked at Cambodia but a bit too exotic.

Many been - Hanoi area is where we are looking. Worth it or better off elsewhere in Asia.

Thinking of it in January. Not been before but someone recommended
Fly into Hanoi - 3 days
Fly to Da Nang - 9 days
Fly to HCMC - 3 days
Fly home from HCMC
Will watch this thread with interest though as quite open to other suggestions

Cambodia is perfect for Europeans. Siem Reap is built for tourism and the lazy crossroads that is pub street is the most relaxing 'city' break anywhere. The Wats are fantastic and between that and a week on the beach you'll have a superb time.

Vietnam isn't bad either mind. Getting lost in Da Lat is a pleasure.

Do NOT under any circumstances spend 9 days in Da Nang. It is f***ing grim.

9 days in Da Nang? Make it 9 hours

Unless by Da Nang you mean Hoi An. Still too long
9 minutes is too long! ;)

Aye Siem Reap itself is nowt special but the temples are unbelievable. Loved Phnom Penh.
