Roker Riviera

We had a drive along to shields yesterday and was great to see loads of kids enjoying the fair and that - agree more for families along there just wish they’d get cracking with developing seaburn with more than just cafes
They should still have a funfair there tbh, that's the only reason I take the bairn to Shields - always preferred Seaburn as a kid.

Tbf it id actually quite a nice coastline but as with almost all beaches the people who go there on days like this and behave antisocially put me off in the summer months

Was lovely doe there yesterday morning.. walked the dog down to latimers along the prom then across the beach to roker. Along the pier and back then sat outside granny Annie's for a sarnie and a pot of tea.. absolutely class!! Glad I agreed to getting the shit machine or I wouldn't of even thought about going down...

Downside was when we left granny Annie's about 12. There was a lad and his bairn kicking a ball about in the shelter.. thought class that like until I seen the dad was holiding a can of fosters and had a big bag of them next to their bikes... presuming there was just the two of them then I'm sure he won't of been going home sober...

Walked home through the park and was really busy with people enjoying themselves... more sunny days please.

The two compliment each other
Most people drive or you can bus along
Shields has all the fair stuff but less of an open aspect to the sea and beaches
Just needs the smartening up to continue

Little kids like fairs ,older ones just knock about there
Us older people think we need leisure centres and fairs
Unfortunately today's kids aren't that fussed ,times a changing

We definitely don't need a scratty fair like Shields, let all the charvers head there. A nice mini golf, and improved play park would be canny at the Seaburn end. Always thought the old Lambton Worm area would have been a right money spinner as one.
