Missiles being hoyed all game from North Stand Upper

Hi guys. Sky blue fan and I come in peace. Really not sure why there was such a situation on Saturday. It’s a shame that such a great game of football was spoilt by the minority. I do not condone the actions of people who feel it normal to throw things at people who are there to support their team. I don’t think what happened is good. Far from it. Hope people in the stand that were affected are ok.

It isn't a minority. The ones who didn't throw anything stood and watched the rest do it, and a number have since denied it even happened despite the police and both clubs making a statement on it.

So fuck off.

I sit in the North Stand but far enough back that I can't see the away fans apart from the front row or 2.

Just watched the highlights from the club e mail. On 4 minutes in there is some footage of the North upper after their third goal and there are only a handful of fans in the front 6 rows. So when and why did the stewards / police let their fans move forward so that some were in the front rows taunting the fans beneath? Unbelievable
Id seen this from my seat in the West stand. Incredible they weren't moved back. Think a bit of an issue with policing at football these days is that, on occasion, they seem more concerned with getting evidence rather than dealing with actual incidents when they're happening. If they can get some prosecutions then job well done in their eyes. Surely stopping this from happening in the first place should be their ultimate priority.

They didn't handle Saturday well at all and it would be nice if they held their hands up a bit. I don't expect they will though.

It would have been during the game if we could have got at them. The North Stand were well up for it.

Mentioned elsewhere but it was yet another f***ing stupid decision to let them leave at the same time as us. I've never been involved in football violence, no desire to be (mind I'm soft as shite which helps) but I was that angry after watching the way their fans went on and after seeing the police seemingly do nothing that it wouldn't have taken much to provoke me outside the stadium, and that seemed to be the feeling throughout those in the north stand. So of course their fans are allowed to come out taunting our supporters. There were quite a few police there like and they did alright at ensuring there wasn't a flash point but I'm amazed there wasn't more bother there given what had gone on and staggered that they let them come out at the same time as us. Almost as if they would have been happy if there had been issues which they could then have used to suggest it was both sets of fans at fault

Coventry statement about "allegations" in a for a bit of a shock at the end of this I feel. Ample evidence.

Also just noticed an safc fan on Twitter fuelling Coventry fans conspiracy theories claiming it wasnt at all bad and it was just a few sarnies and empty bottles. Ffs:rolleyes:

Coventry statement

"We're looking into it, but you're not very nice either and .....anyway.... you started it last year"

Coventry City is aware of reports on social media and from Sunderland supporters regarding incidents in the North Stand at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

We will work with Sunderland and the appropriate bodies wherever necessary to investigate any incidents that took place, and take action if appropriate as a result of the investigations.

We are also aware of reports from Sky Blues fans regarding incidents outside of the ground, and will also investigate these with the appropriate bodies.

This follows incidents between Coventry City and Sunderland fans earlier in the season, when steps were required to protect the Jimmy Hill Statue and the Memorial Garden at the Ricoh Arena and fans confronted each other in Car Park B.

We would urge fans of both clubs to show restraint and respect for each other in any future fixtures between the two sides, and ensure a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for all supporters.

Coventry City will not be making any further comment.

Shocking statement that

Hope they go under

Exactly, there's no way I could watch on as Sunderland fans next to me indiscriminately lobbed bottles onto kids. There should have been scuffles amongst the Coventry supporters as the decent ones stood up against the morons - but it seemed like they were as one from my viewpoint (which was pretty decent).

Me dad's mate got hit on the shoulder by a full bottle like. If it had hit him on the head could have been pretty serious. Still got a canny mark like.

As many people are aware the top of the skull near the soft spot when we are born is the most vulnerable part as a blow there can have an eggshell effect. I would be surprised if any Police officer did not know that because if their training is fit for purpose they should be instructed to avoid that area with their batons.

I sit in the east stand on the north goal eighteen yard line. To be honest I didn't see anything coming over but it was obvious by the reactions that things had been thrown over, it was also obvious that the stewardship was ineffective. I noticed a protracted and heated discussion between a complainant and a supervisor in the north stand who appeared to be telling the complainant and his wife to return to their seats. I did notice that prior to kick off Coventry fans had moved ahead of the line of stewards into the couple of rows of seats at the front of NS Upper and commented about why the stewards were allowing it.

Proud of your club statement?

Fair play to you for coming on and appreciate a kind of an apology but what your lot did on Saturday was disgusting. Looks like your club are saying it's all right for hundreds of objects to be chucked at women and kids but it's acceptable as 1 drunk lad shouted at a statue. A statue of a hypocritical fcuking cheat by the way.

I never wish any ill or hatred on anyone but I wish your club and supporters no good wjatsover.

first game I've taken my 4 yr old granddaughter too, thank fuck we were sat near the back of the stand. No way I could have stayed if we'd been sitting half a dozen rows further forward. I was seething with what was going on. Fortunately she didn't know what was going on.

If there was a way up to the away fans half the stand would have been up there.

Thats cov lads blog of their fans before the game in the wheatsheaf letting off smoke bombs scrapping ect should be canny evidence i would have thought ...after all its from their own people!
Gives a canny insight into their mood that day...
