Missiles being hoyed all game from North Stand Upper

Imagine a mob going into the Wheatsheaf, give it the billy big balls then get brayed out of the pub by normal lads in footy tops just having a pint
Happened at derby years ago. The derby lot thought that they had come across the seaburn casuals. it wasn’t. It was something like the seaham branch and they kicked 7 bells out of the derby lot.

How embarrassing

I was in the east stand and could tell something was wrong and it wasn't rocket science to work out what it was. Someone should have made a decision to stop the game and get a message to try and gain some control.

How is it that our fans and our kids can come under attacked like that in our stadium and NOTHING be done to try and prevent it. Hopefully something new is put in place and changes are made to stop this ever happening again.

The problem is that we expected these people to have the same standards of behaviour as our fans.

Unfortunately as we have seen this season most of the clubs seem to be infested with clueless and classless charver arseholes who seem to have difficulty differentiating between lads up for it and 9 year old lasses with their families

I think we’ve all been caught by surprise at just how mind numbingly classless these clubs and their fans are. They seem to think they are coming to Wembley for the WWF.

Hopefully Saturday was a watershed moment, I'm confident that our current owners will improve this whole situation and sort it out for the better forever.

I sit in the North Stand but far enough back that I can't see the away fans apart from the front row or 2.

Just watched the highlights from the club e mail. On 4 minutes in there is some footage of the North upper after their third goal and there are only a handful of fans in the front 6 rows. So when and why did the stewards / police let their fans move forward so that some were in the front rows taunting the fans beneath? Unbelievable

Hi guys. Sky blue fan and I come in peace. Really not sure why there was such a situation on Saturday. It’s a shame that such a great game of football was spoilt by the minority. I do not condone the actions of people who feel it normal to throw things at people who are there to support their team. I don’t think what happened is good. Far from it. Hope people in the stand that were affected are ok.

Has Jim White said anything yet? He gave a full hour a couple of weeks ago when a plastic bottle got thrown onto the pitch, what's his view on all this stuff being thrown on families with kids?

Coventry statement

"We're looking into it, but you're not very nice either and .....anyway.... you started it last year"

Coventry City is aware of reports on social media and from Sunderland supporters regarding incidents in the North Stand at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

We will work with Sunderland and the appropriate bodies wherever necessary to investigate any incidents that took place, and take action if appropriate as a result of the investigations.

We are also aware of reports from Sky Blues fans regarding incidents outside of the ground, and will also investigate these with the appropriate bodies.

This follows incidents between Coventry City and Sunderland fans earlier in the season, when steps were required to protect the Jimmy Hill Statue and the Memorial Garden at the Ricoh Arena and fans confronted each other in Car Park B.

We would urge fans of both clubs to show restraint and respect for each other in any future fixtures between the two sides, and ensure a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment for all supporters.

Coventry City will not be making any further comment.

I'm surprised the police are not saying that anyone affected should contact them for a crime number to claim on insurance as that's about all they are good for these days.

As if there is some equivalence between alleged threats against a bronze statue and throwing bottles from a height onto children bellow.
