Not a bad shout to bring in Durham Police to sort it over our lot..they seem to have a much better reputation and they would hopefully look more interested than some did in front of us yesterday.Saw normally placid men around me going nuts at the lack of action

you are normally a sensible poster. Whats happened today

To be honest, I'm a bit upset and ashamed. I used to live near Cov for 40 years and my own children have supported them. In fact one used to work for the club and another did some publicity work for them. I've known so many Cov fans over the years that were decent working class people. Even some that used to go in the old North End at Highfield Road who were anything but angels but would turn away in shame and disgust at what happened yesterday.

I know that's not the issue I've raised but can NP really be trusted. People should not play this down or allow it to have happened. Dropping a bottle onto the top of a kids head from that height is dropping it onto the most vulnerable part of the head and the result could have been disastrous. Only by the grace of God that hasn't happened and the Police should have done something.

They did the square root of fuck all mate

I think everyone is a bit upset today and emotions are running high, understandably

I can understand that but we should be able to think straight.

as ive said before, I was at the match but never noticed what was going on nor did anybody else around me.

the police first function is to save life and limb.

If what we are reading is said in the correct context, then that clearly did not happen as bottles / items landed on safc supporters in the section below.

I can understand a difficulty in trying to arrest the offenders as they are in effect sitting or standing in a confined area. This creates a massive issue to the arresting officers. they would have to go in in some numbers but that probably would of had the effect of inciting violence on a grand scale. Did the police have sufficient numbers to make arrests. in arrests in this situation sometimes it takes 4 to escort 1 away. that's 4 less. arrest another and that's another 4 so 8 less and so on. so numbers quickly depleted

However I go back to the first function is to save life and limb.

could the police have cleared the lower north stand to a certain level, for supporters to be out of range, that again, would have caused issues with our fans and where would they go. premier concourse, it would have to be stewarded.

could the game have been stopped and explained to supporters what is happening. That in itself would cause a bloodbath after the match and possibly something more serious could have occurred.

I suspect an order from the top would be sent out. The reasons for that order will now be dissected and dissected again of that their is no doubt. I have no doubt another order would have been sent to cctv staff / evidence gatherers to ensure they get clear and detailed images of the offenders.

It is also likely to be explained at a crown court level as I am almost sure a team will be set up to interrogate images and liaise with both clubs as to who was allocated what seat for further arrests to be made in the future.

Now I have no idea if my theory is accurate and it is supposition on my behalf

It appears that were a group of around 30 near the front of the upper tier that were the most responsible. So CCTV images should be easily available and I wouldn't be surprised if they are known to local Police in Coventry as they probably bother easy targets on a regular basis in their home estates of Willenhall, Cheylesmore or wherever they are from.

A Coventry fan was on the wireless on about the fighting after the game. Reckoned as soon as they left it kicked off. I must have caught the last of it as it was mainly people holding their faces and scrambling to get to the coaches as the plod moved in.

in fairness if what is said on here is accurate and I have no reason to doubt it, then they are setting themselves up as targets
