Families and pensioners.
Bedrock of our modern day support.

Curiously enough, the atmosphere is not what it was in years gone by.

We were there as a family, and I was the one belting out the songs in our section. Along with a couple of wifeys in front.

Some of our singing was great. I think people are going OTT with criticism. And plenty times from where I was the Play up Pompey chant didn’t get going. When it did, it was loud tbf.

Tin hat on, but I wonder if this Covent Garden and Trafalgar Sq business (and it looked class tbf) sees some of our fans sing themselves out so to speak.

Why are we beating ourselves up?
Yes we peaked on Saturday night
Yes we were awesome first half
Yes we went quiet when we stopped playing...tried to revive them, but we are carrying a lot of emotional baggage and many like me were just too nervous
The penalties were at their end.....
I love our club. My voice had gone at 14:35...

I was knackered like from all day Saturday

Portsmouth were equally poor until a small bit around the 60th minute when they hit the post and then right at the end of normal time which was obvious as they'd just scored.

Other than that, both us and them were mostly quiet.

It was a poor atmosphere but then there wasn't that much to cheer on on the pitch

Fair enough. I thought thatcalso

Same every time. Too much the night before

Was people watching up Wembley way and lots of our lads look ill with the drink, I mentioned it to the lads I was with

f***ing pathetic,no noise no passion who bought all those tickets?
Really disappointed 2nd half when despite the team serving up shite, we should have been rallying them.
I'm sorry like, but Ross fkd it up with "hold on to what we got" tactics, and substitutions.
Hey ho, we move on.

You weren't the bloke who embarrassed himself at the front of our block were you? Spent all game with his back to the pitch, arms folded watching the fans. calling everyone who wasn't signing a kernt, told a middle aged woman to fuck off because she had the audacity to ask him to calm down, and then stumbled off up the stairs surprisingly alone at full time swearing his head off.

Might have been different if we had flags to wave about... they were like church mice after we scored, we should stop beating ourselves up about shit like this, had a great day out with my son at Wembley watching our team, regardless of the result.

It was decent in the first half and quiet in the second. It was a bit shit that all the action was at the other end of the pitch for the whole game.

The second half was also horrible to watch, their goal was just inevitable. I can’t remember is having a meaningful attack in the second half at 1-0 up.

yep this. After the first half our fans would have been expecting to see plenty of action at our end.....but we never got anywhere near their goal and i think our fans couldnt really believe the turnaround

SOL is quite poor most of the time, don't know why people were expecting anything different at Wembley. I actually thought the atmosphere was OK but can't deny that the Pompey end was better on the day (didn't help that they dominated from the 46th minute onwards). A lot of our fans seem to be more interested in getting pissed at Trafalgar Square the night before than creating an atmosphere at the actual match.

I honestly thought it was equal.
I think a lot of supporters think we should be far better vocally than any other team and when we're not and the other team are just as good then they think we're shite and the other team are amazing.
It's not like we sat there quiet as fuck like, loads of noise from both sets throughout

Really don't know what game people were at, I heard the Pompey fans a couple of times in the second half but not really much more than that. Atmosphere after our goal in the first half was brilliant, whole end singing for 5 minutes!

From where I was, we were as loud as I've ever heard, and Pompey were quiet until they scored. Funny thing, acoustics.

Very much so.

Also it was funny that because the stadium is big, there was about a second delay between their fans making noise for a goal etc and us hearing them (we were behind the goal).
