Wembley distraction thread Haway or Howay

probay been done to death this and I’d always had a go at Niall for signing his book Howay the lads rather than Haway. I’d always thought howay was from them up the road but as it turns out Howay is actually on our programs from the late 40s and 50s
So what’s right? Haway or Howay? (Cue replacement seats thread)

Haway. If one of us said Howay it would be pronounced 'hehway'

Except Hadaway means rubbish or go away as in "Hadaway and shite, man", and Ha'way means come on.
Languages don't translate directly.

One word in one language can translate to more than one word in another language.

I can use "allez" to tell someone to (fuck off and) leave or to tell them to try harder. And do you really think the Germans are telling their team to jump when they shout "hopp" at them?

Normally in "Allez s'encouler vous" - or "Go and bugger yourself"
