Born in / lived in south east London. Dad’s a Londoner and mum is from Sunderland, neither are really interested in football. Went to my first game in 1998 with my mum’s brother and my dad to see Sunderland and that was that.

When people down here ask who I support it’s usually followed up with a “why Sunderland?” and I have to explain.

Anyway, I don’t think it makes me any less of a supporter to have never lived there.

Hartlepool.
Started going Roker park before I was big enough to see over the wall in the clock stand. My dad made me a little wooden swing we used to take for me to stand on.

It doesn’t mate.

As the name suggests, born and live in Shotley Bridge but spent quite a few years in sunny Consett 2 miles away. Supported the lads from age 5 as my father was a MLF.

The People's Republic of Penshaw, grand parents from Fatfield. I have eated deer from Lambtons Estate and caught flatties in the river.

Nice one, brought up in Fatfield, went to primary school in Penshaw, lord I hope you didn't eat the fish, then again you are still alive so guess not

Born in South Yorkshire. Me Dad's from Yorkshire but his Dad is from Sunderland. I was brought up supporting the lads. Lived in Sunderland for nearly 40 years. Proud Tyke and Mackem.

My family from the Felling, I'm a Leam Lane Lad, but moved to uni, then work in London and now back up here, up in Holywell. Never used the word Mackem as a kid, never shy from being called it, would have used Geordie in the old days - but that seems to have been taken away from us. I'm a Sunderland supporter first, last and foremost though. As was my Dad, his Dad and as are my kids - and I fervently hope and will demand - are any and all grandkids!
