It's about average tbh. I paid for my ex and her son to go next week . Same sort of price. We were together when I paid wouldn't do it now obv.

Generally speaking, I think it is more expensive than London. I was there in April/May and found it more expensive than London, which is where I live.
In previous years I've brought a load of clobber back from NY (European brands rather than US stuff) but last year it was fairly prohibitive - maybe 30-40% more expensive. Okay, that was partly explained by sterling weakness, but it was more than that. I got the sense that prices had really jumped in the last few years.
Eating out and drinking can be expensive too. We had three good evening meals out and spent more than the equivalent in London. However, it was also worth every penny.
It remains a fantastic city to visit. Love the place. Try and walk as much of it as you can. It really can be a magical city, one of the best in the world.

I'd say you'll be fine. All depends what you do and how you eat etc. I found it hard to spend huge amounts after entrance fees, until going shopping.
There's plenty of free stuff to do (especially in the summer), you would be absolutely fine with that.
It's all relative though, you could spend £300 or £3000 and still have a great time. It's the best place I've ever been.
