spends most of the time being shite but keeps producing a moment of magic out of absolutely nowhere

Pretty much this, the number of times he puts us in the shit by losing the ball is beyond belief........When he turns it on like he did 2nd half last night he is unplayable, he was tremendous.

It’s amazing how players similar to McGeady can be labelled as luxury players. Seen it mentioned on this thread. If by luxury people mean that he’s our best player, creator and arguably our chief goal threat at present then they’re right.

The term gets bandied about as a semi-insult to skilful players despite them contributing far more than others who don’t get labelled as such.

I'm very good friends with his father in law, anyone who knows me on Facebook will know. And, from a position of itk, he is very passionate about the club and wants us to win every game and thinks we should be. I know he was frustrated with a couple of players who did not have the same mentality and a couple of former managers.
That aside, he's the best technical player we've got, he is a luxury we can afford if we have the players who are supposed to be ball winners winning the ball.

I don't think anyone would like to be compared with Adam Johnson.
McGeady had an off-day against Blackpool but is easily the most skilful player in the squad and scored again tonight.
But the game changer was Wyke off Maguire on.
I think you've got to compare him on two levels. As a person I agree, no one in their right mind would want to be compared with him, but as a footballer he was an exceptional talent. No doubt about that IMHO.

He does come across as a player who takes things very personally and genuinely cares, to me:)

He’s a real Jekyll and Hyde player mind....and in a single game. That’s twice recently he’s been as bad in the first half as he was goidcin the second. Outstanding 2nd half tonight....wouldn’t have got a game for Tow Law on first half performance.

I get what you’re saying - the first half wasn’t as good as the second but he was still our best player. The first 20 mins where we played ok literally everything we did went through him. The last 25 of the first half where we played as bad as any time I have ever seen us play he was rotten but so were everyone else

I don’t see mcgeady as a luxury at all. He works as hard as anyone else. His tracking back was brilliant yesterday. Added to that he is more comfortable with a ball at his feet - revolutionary for a footballer eh - than anyone else in the team

Love him I do, he is he only player at the club that is actually totally comfy on the ball amd trys to pick out the right pass most of the time, would rather have him in he side than any of the other wingers we have
