I’d play him and maguire alternating in the hole behind Grigg. It’d be a lot harder to double up on him if he’s not stuck wide left. I stand to be corrected if he’s played behind the striker before and been shite,I just can’t recall

32 year old journeyman winger playing in League One...who would have thought it.
To be fair, when someone’s proverbial CV shows six clubs (including two loan spells) in a fifteen year career, largely spent in the top flights of the countries he’s played in, with a few league titles, Champions League appearances, and over 90 international caps, you’re inclined to think that those aren’t the typical hallmarks of a journeyman.

Only player that could step up 2 divisions imo
Oviedo, if he actually felt like it.

I don't get this criticism of McGeady thing.
He's one of the most skilful players I've seen at the club, great with both feet, aged 33 and still pretty quick, he scores goals and creates them too.
Yes, sometimes things don't come off for him and he had an off-day against Blackpool in particular.
If it wasn't for his age he'd be nowhere near League 1.
I'd have him first on the team sheet every game.

Agree with this. He's one of those who you have to take the rough with the smooth sometimes, he needs time on the ball. Yesterday he was dire for the first half trying through balls at every opportunity, but then in the second half he figured them out and was the fulcrum around which the game turned.

He is also 100000000% trusted by his teammates. They want him to have the ball as much as possible because they believe he can make things happen that nobody else can.

He couldnt tie johnsons boots
Only because he's busy during visiting hours.

He hasn’t been caught noncing has he ? As footballers Johnson was streets ahead of mcgeady
Purely as a footballer, Johnson was the type of player who had plenty of ability but was massively inconsistent. A good comparison would actually be with someone like Kieran Richardson. You wouldn’t get game time for Alex Ferguson era Man United, or in Johnson’s case, Man City, unless there was some serious ability, but the consistency just wasn’t there. We’ve had plenty of these types of players, and they’re massively f***ing frustrating. Phil Bardsley, he was another, when contract renewal time was around the corner, you’d get a few games where he’d play out of his skin and you’d see the talent. With these players, it’s just the consistency and on some level, the lack of drive over the course of a season which stops them becoming top players.
