I'm reserving judgement until he's played a number of games. I know nothing of him other than YouTube clips. Hadn't heard of him until we were linked with him. I don't know if he is going to be good or not.
I do apologise, you sound as if I give a feck....... you absolute numpty.

My man at the club says he looks unbelievable in training, can't wait till he's let leash on the prem

Is he as good as Bradley Wright Phillips?

Aye, MLS is miles better than people make out.

It's maybe a sliver ahead of the Championship. The likes of Liam Ridgewell and Bradley Wright Phillips have been stars in that league. Rooney has looked like a world beater.

I am seriously doubting your credibility! You seem to mention your man at the club far too many times which appears to me that you need to fabricate a person to substantiate what you are saying. In essence I am calling bullshit!

Bradley Wright Phillips scoring at a higher rate in MLS than he did at league one level. He was a very good league one player but not very good at championship. Tells the story

Jozy Altidore has 45 in 88 at Toronto, and 2 in 70 in the PL...sort that one out.

It's a bit of an anomaly.
Almost as good as Defoe's record over there of 11 in 19. 0.57 goals per game
Ibrahimovic 22 in 27 0.81 gpg
Henry only 51 in 122 0.41 gpg
Keane 83 in 125 0.66 gpg

These are all strikers who've done well in the premier league. Decent enough goals to games.
Almiron 21 goals in 60 games 0.35 gpg is pretty not bad for a midfielder, when compared to good premier league strikers goal ratios over there.

Different league though, and nobody knows how he will do until he's been here playing for a while.

Yes, and they were comfortable old men significantly on the decline when they reached the MLS.

Altidore isn't an anomaly either, 33 year old Bradley Wright Phillips is hammering in 20+ goals a season in the MLS, and he was a League 1/Championship player over here.

I'm just using an example of players who've done well here, who done well there, and hit numbers pretty consistent with the rest of their career. Their figures suddenly didn't balloon just because they went to a weaker league.
Altidore had a good record in Holland, has a good record in MLS and a good international record. The anomaly I was referring to is his low numbers in the premier league

Bradley Wright Phillips. An excellent league one player. Strike rate fell off a cliff at championship level, poor. Scores at a better rate in MLS than he did in league one though.
Altidore. A joke in the premier, like literally a clown. Like watching a casual punter. Would be poor in the championship. I think he would score at league one but even at this level it is unimaginable he would score at the rate he does at MLS.
So Almiron is a big gamble. Got to question why he didn't go to Europe 2 years ago when he left Argentina. Why didn't he fancy it then? Strange decision to go to a league for the semi retired in early 20s

It isn't an anomaly, it is a reflection of his ability, and the standard of opposition. The opposition in Holland are poor, the opposition in the MLS are poor, and most of his USA goals are against the likes of Panama, Cuba and St Vincent. He's had 2 failed goes at the PL, didn't make it in Spain, had a poor loan in Turkey...
