New Music Releases Thread

Green Man has Four Tet, Father John Misty, Idles and Sharon van Etten headlining (guessing Four Tet on Thursday but not sure). Lots of cool stuff down the bill:

I think End of the Road is supposed to be announced today/tomorrow as well.

Hell0 from Joburg BTW. I've not been mugged/murdered yet...
it seems like Father John Misty releases a new album every few months. Compared to what I typically listen to, he isn't an artist that I should like, yet I love his music. Feel like I should beat myself up for my lunch money now.

EOTR is Thursday

Please don’t die. I can’t be arsed to research my own music releases

I second this:lol:

Strokes headlining All Points East supported by Interpol, Parquet Courts, Courtney Barnett and Jarvis Cocker.

Festivals are really outdoing each other this year.
I’ve tickets for all points east on Friday who today announced Jon Hopkins alongside Chemical Bros, Spiritualized, Primal Scream, Hot Chip, little Dragon etc. Unbelievable lineup.
Thought it couldn’t be beat until I saw Bluedot doing Kraftwerk / New Order / Jon Hopkins
Some amazing line ups this year

Bluedot looks amazing

It's a fairly quiet week for new releases... albums from Beirut, Broods, Cherry Glazerr, Girlpool, Le Butcherettes, Rustin Man, The Specials and Within Temptation. Looks like William Tyler's album gets a physical release but it seems to have been out digitally since last Friday.

Line up looks good but, beyond Spiritualized on the Thursday, not sure about the headliners.

Will give Girlpool a go - I think it’s the first album since the singer transitioned to male so heard the vocal sound has transitioned significantly too

Ian brown

Apple Music has thrown up some surprises today - new albums by People Under the Stairs, The Irish Rovers and Ian Brown so I’ve got them and The Specials to work through after originally thinking it was just The Specials.

Never heard of them, but Wikipedia makes me think I might like them

Saw Sound of the Sirens last night at MK, the girls are really good live both musically and vocals. Very good interaction and funny with it.

New album released last week and as good as the first two.

You enjoy Steve Mason marra? Wearing a crown was unexpected mind.

I did mate though can’t get away with venue. The new albums really grown on me. Last time I saw him he wore the boiler suit but the crowns a new one !!
Only thing that pisses me off, and it’s obviously nowt to do with him, is that I heard a few people bemoaning the lack of Beta Band tracks. Really pisses me off when people think they’re off to a nostalgia night.

Aye, seen him three times. Cagoule and swimming style goggles on, the boiler suit and now the crown.

Agreed about the new album. Actually like it more as a result of the gig, where I thought they took on a bit of a new life.

Ah right, always happens. A bit like when people go to watch Noel and want Oasis, Ashcroft and want Verve etc. Taties. He's promoting the new record ffs.

Re: the venue. Dunno if it was due to the in take of drink but the sound seemed to be much better second half. Was half tempted to go down Leeds again instead as I really like that place.

It’s Belgrave Music Hall isn’t it ? Superb venue. Saw Polica there a while back and thought it was brilliant. Would love something similar up here.
