It's better to overspend and not derail the season than to not overpay and watch the season collapse.

Well done to Donald for spending more than Griggs value when he could have easily refused .

I'm confident now we will have too much for the other side's Luton aside.

Nope, just getting the info from Twitter. Think we will find out on Saturday when he's on the podcast, fingers crossed it's the 1.5m that was initially published, rising to 3m or so if we get to championship, 4m for premier league. I'd be very happy with that.

Either way what does it matter to us, Stewart is as sensible as we've ever had with finances and he's signed it off so must be covered.
Big statement to say he is the most sensible we have ever had !

Stewart Donald in responsible, prudent owner shocker.

Yep. Owner has put his hands into the coffers when we needed it. Total opposite of last January’s pathetic deadline day striker scramble. Nowt to complain about especially when the fee is undisclosed anyway. Childish whining is a sport in itself for some of our fans.

All guesswork from the media who often get it wrong - better than Lee Camp being unveiled, anything is.

Whilst Sunderland fans wait with baited breath to find out if the club have officially added to their forward line, owner Stewart Donald has commented publicly on the deal for Wigan striker Will Grigg via his Twitter account. The final touches are being put to the deal that will see Will Grigg become a Sunderland player today, with the club merely...
