The whole season was decided at the last minute with the signing of Grigg. We left it late and paid over the top, but we can't say Ross wasn't backed.
A midfielder who captained a top 5 Championship club last season, a striker that has an average of 21 goals/season for the last 3 seasons at this level plus one of his favourite players from his former club.
There's no excuse for finishing lower than top 2, let's be honest (IF the Grigg deal goes through).
All first choice targets. The Sterling loan wasn't a last minute thing apparently and been going on for a while. We got Dunne early on and made our first bid for Grigg on the 7th. Leadbitter would have been in earlier, but supposedly the hold up was him sorting out the Boro end of things. With Morgan we were waiting on Celtic signing players before he was allowed to come. When you look at like that it makes some of the comments from the last few days pretty embarrassing.

You’re far more compassionate than me then mate. Fuck them

Some of these wankers were visibly gutted when the offer was accepted.

As the evening wore on they were actually encouraging each other and becoming increasingly 'indignant'.

When the news came in you just knew their little hearts were broken ..... absolutely pathetic human beings.

One of the occasions that reminds me how pleased I am to be me, not them

Good points.

I think some people were rightly or wrongly concerned that it took 3 and a half weeks and a deal that looks like 20 times or original bid to get Grigg.

Still if he starts banging them in it'll sharp be forgotten.

Some were twisting like fuck saying it was a disgrace despite knowing we were getting our main target in. That was a strange one.

Exactly, they are shrewd businessmen not fly by nights or wing and a prayer chancers, everything they do is calculated and budgeted for.

I feel the club is in very safe hands with owners who have ambition and have a great vision for the club, they are trying their best even if Grigg is voided by the FA.

I completely understand people getting anxious. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't starting to think we wouldn't get a striker myself. However as last night proved things were going on that none of us knew about. Griggs fee is irrelevant to me. I'd be very surprised if we've gone over any strict budget that Donald has put in place anyway.
