The last thing we need is a big divide with our own fans over this, let alone getting shit from outside sources.

Why should our club business be dictated by Twitter followers or 'what the Mags will think' mate.

Bollocks to them, this isn't a 'nur nur ne nur nur' playground situation.

If the manager, other players and management want him at the club that's our business, not the tossers on social media.

It divides everybody who talks about it which is why the media lapped it up and why it will cause more disruption than it's worth.

This whole thread is evidence of why he should stay away from SAFC.

Fans, the dressing room, the press office, Netflix, local reporters, will all be affected.

Why did Sheffield United loan him out if he's so handy? They couldn't deal with the fallout so why should we.

This is very bad for the club's image. I appreciate the fact that yes, Ched Evans had all of his convictions quashed and never committed the accused acts, however what most people are concerned about here is the media circus and negative fanfare around our club.

It cannot be avoided that in line with recent allegations in Daily Mail, and then the conviction of one of our players 3 years ago, that it all comes together to set an overarching narrative about our club which will damage our reputation but also become a point of ridicule which sticks. I still feel some anguish over the Johnson scandal, we are trying to build our club afresh we really don't need it.

A divisive and poisonous atmosphere will divide our fans and sink the morale of the team. Ched can do the job goals wise in league one yes, but the side affects are enough to derail promotion in other ways. Yes to those pointing out, Ched's life has been tarnished, but we need to put our interests as a club first and do what is best for SAFC.

The moralising and judging on this thread is every thing that is wrong with human nature.

People more concerned with pride, image and reputation.

Yes he behaved badly, has he done anything like this again?

He was found not guilty in a court of law and spent time in prison before the conviction was overturned.

Forgive no condem yes and discrimante by not considering him for the job. Despite him being found not guilty.
