The agent has played an absolute blinder mind. He'll probably pick up a fair few new clients on the back of this. His client's recognition has grown exponentially, he secured a move to top division of a European league and he'll be made an overnight millionaire.

Cracking job, he's earned his wedge and done exactly what he was appointed to do.

As far as Maja is concerned, if this is the company he keeps, then I'm glad he's gone. Obviously its to the detriment of the playing squad in the short term, but so is carrying dissenters.

I can’t remember the details but they were both offered extensions but it was either after their stock had risen and they were getting a run in the team so they were declined or they were taken off the table at that point for some reason. As I say my memory is hazy but I was annoyed by it at the time.

Donald said earlier in the season that it made better financial sense to keep Gooch and maja on the low salary for longer, then give them a pay rise later as it would save wages. I think he might regret that now - should have tried them up earlier and would have had a better negotiating position if and when it came to sell.

A bit disappointed we couldn't at least have arranged a loan for the rest of the season. Is he really going to get much 1st team time for them?

Schwartzer reckons it's strange the club is letting it happen & must need the money. Said club should have kept him & help club get promoted. Reckons the club should have left it till the summer & then made a decision.

Phillips says he should continue playing at Sunderland but his agent is obviously in his ear. Get into the championship and then go from there. Can't afford to lose your goal scorer going promotion

Shreeves reckons it's a big kick in teeth & it's bizzare to let him go as the numbers don't add up. Only getting 3.5 mill & promotion is worth more.

Which shows how little Schwarzer knows about how the numbers work when young players sign a pre-contract at a foreign club (you get peanuts), and how the money doesn't go if you're still getting a parachute payment. Ex-players really shouldn't comment on football finances because, by and large, they're clueless.

Maybe players are better in other teams? I know that might confuse you but you might get over it.
Wigan have better strikers then a fella they paid a million for two years ago who’s scored more then 50 goals for them? If so, how come they’re in or abouts the relegation zone in the league we want to go up to?

We been playing rubbish with all this rumbling on, so if he wants out then feck off . Maybe players will be glad to see back of him.

Why are people laughing at the 'plane' comment ?

Cos they f***ing dense.

Wrong! Jack Ross specifically said last night it was a calf injury. Maja never said that or his agent.
Maybe he said his calf was proving a problem and it wasn’t ? Or perhaps it was a lie to throw others off the scent, given it is a good deal. Maja bottled the 2 big games by falsely claiming he was ill imo.

Was Shreeves who said about the TV money. Schwartzer just said club should keep him till summer & the club obviously need to the money so are selling him. We don't know what the club are budgeting towards tbf.

So he’s away and won’t play for us again ( not reading the whole thread , just finished work and heard it on the news )

Ah well ! Shit happens , let’s see who we get in , we’ll still be alright I reckon ,

He’s done well but think he’s in for a shock when he’s up against better players

Have you read the quotes from the Wigan manager, Paul Cook? If you had (and if they are to believed) you’d totally understand.
