Is that four of our top young prospects gone in the last 6 months? Gutted really liked Maja think he will turn out to be a very good player.
Big test for the recruitment team now, they knew this was a possibility so got to get us some good players in.

Would rather he'd stayed but think we've done well to get £3.5mill considering he's only got 6 months left. Even better if as has been suggested there is a sell on clause in place. Would have had more respect for him/his agent if he's done what Eaves at Gillingham did in December. Basically said I won't be signing a new deal rather than all this dragging it out.

@The Rat has taken this badly mind!

Sadly Maja was always going to leave after he turned down SD's very generous offer (£10k a week iirc). Once a player's heads been turned they're generally f***ing useless.

This way we get money for a replacement... as Keano said "we move on".

If the money buys a few decent players this window we'll be okay.

Not being funny here, but surely that indicates that he cares?
 
I've mentioned this before, but getting some money for him, rather than nothing, allows us to buy a replacement. Agents are a curse and only look at the cash they can make from transfers etc., rather than the player and his career. As some posters have said, he may not make it abroad, but hey, he's earning loads of cash and that's what matters these days. Younger players especially are vulnerable and should seek sensible advice before just letting agents move them on. I'm not too worried about him going as long as we get a suitable replacement.
