It's you saying that you know what we offered!! And you seem to have been tipped off that we won't be promoted if we sell him and buy a replacement, that's a great source that one!
I want him to stay, but if he doesnt, sell. Financial common sense.
You'd have thought that we'd be able to offer him some sort of future structured deal.
6k a week now, 10k if we get promoted, 25k if we get back to the prem. Option to leave for a set price if we don't get promotion back to the prem in 2 years.
Would work for everybody & everybody would be seen to 'save face'. Would keep him here for a couple of years (motivated) and he could leave if we didn't make good progress / he wanted to go for the big bucks.

Structured and sensible marra, only fly in the ointment is, in a couple of years his form or fitness may dip and the big bucks will no longer be an option.

They didn’t open talks in August but as of this article at the end of September he had scored 7 in 9 and wanted to extend contract at that point I would have payed him what he was asking
To me it looks like we’ve tried to get him cheaper than he was asking until January then went fuck and offered him what he was asking
If they offered maja what he wanted back in September/October time I’m sure Donald would have told us that in one of he’s podcasts rather than telling us in January when they eventually agreed which was to late
Very true. But I don't think anybody is going to be offering him huge amounts right now. Prem clubs are going to want to 'develop' him on the cheap, Champ clubs couldn't afford to. He either doesn't get 1st team football for cash, or gets a little bit more to go to the Championship, which he could be doing with us next year.
Form and fitness wise; if he had something to aim for both on the pitch and in his bank account, you'd think that'd be all the motivation he needed.
