People to just making stuff up now to try and defend the owners. Sad times when our “big club” can’t keep a 20 year old on the books.
man city have lost players who were that age and from the academy..one of them even has the same agent as maja..sad times when Man City cant afford to keep a twenty year old on the books..

If he’s going to Germany I have absolutely no problem with him staying and playing for the rest of the season.

We’ve been saying for years that young British players need to go abroad to develop and we currently have a player in that position. He’s not going to a team that will potentially be one of our rivals next year, he’s going to experience a new culture and hopefully benefit from playing a different type of football. This move could be the making of him and we might be able to claim a major part in the development of yet another England international in a few years!

i have no issue if he moves on anywhere, would rather him let the club know 1 way or another. We've been good with him so should be good with us. Players move on, its a shame in this case as he has huge potential.

It's hard to accept, at the moment we're not a big club anymore. We have the potential to be huge given our fanbase. If we get promoted we won't be able to compete financially with so called smaller clubs than us unless there's major investment. That's the feeling I get unfortunately, but let's just get there first. We need to learn to kill teams off or at least see games out when we're winning

Do you mean negligible?
indeed i did..

we will have a budget in the top ten in championship uite easily..we probably have that now..

Agree. Look at Ramsey at Arsenal. Nothing changed with him & even captained club recently

Exactly. We've had a lot of players taking the piss recently so I know patience is wearing thin with footballers and their agents but Maja isn't doing anything wrong, other than maybe taking a bit longer than we'd like to inform the club for certain if he's leaving (which he might now have done).

End of the day he had a contract, he was right not to extend it under Short because we were an absolute clusterfuck. Now he's nearing the end of it and is rightly looking at what he can get elsewhere. His stock is high now, it might never be as high again depending on how he develops so this is a massive decision for him. If he signed a new deal, even with a release clause, he'd have less suitors and they wouldn't pay him as much as they'd be giving a fee to the club. He's perfectly entitled to move now, it's not his fault that the club has been ran like a joke until this season and, like it did with Defoe and Pickford, it'll cost us again. We just need to ensure this doesn't happen in the future.

Maja seems a good lad though, I'm sure he'll give his all and as you said Ramsay has proved that players can see out their contracts with no issues if they're professional enough. Keep him here, let him help us get promoted and then at least we've had some genuine benefit from him, then he can go and the club can wish him well. I'll not be arsed whether he's a success or not, once he's not here I couldn't care less, but I wouldn't wish him ill unlike several others!

i mostly agree with this, but maja has had a lot of clubs for his age.by which i mean been in a few academies...likes a move..impatient..

Yeah totally agree. He's caught us off guard by being so good this year. Can't imagine the deal we offered him in the summer was near what we're offering here. End of the day he's honouring his contract & has every right to look at other options. A move to Germany could be massive for him whereas we could realistically be in League 1 again next year.

We're not the first team it's happened too, far from it. I just hope we don't put him in football purgatory.

Sign Grigg, who is a better player anyway, and there's no worries.

Grigg will easily replace his goal record as he has proved time and time again in this division.

I believe thats more to do with these clubs not fancying the lad.
We did, scores a few goals then wants away, modern footballs shite, hes done feck all to date in reality.

if fulham in the championship didnt want him...and we in the prem did..then our scouts did very well..or fulhams very badly.

Maja has done a lot wrong, dont forget he asked for an amount and we gave him it ............. then he said no to it!!

His agent suggested the wage he'd like and we offered it. That doesn't mean he's done anything wrong though, the agent will rightly be putting the feelers out to other clubs and they might have indicated that they'll offer the same (or more). Their deal might be better due to a high signing on fee which we can't or won't match, it might be as simple as their offer is more attractive because it's a Bundesliga side rather than a side that might still be in league one next season. Can't blame the lad for keeping his options open and choosing the best one, regardless of whether we offered what his agent suggested would be a fair amount

That’s not our budget mate. That is a legacy financial liability which the current owners have stated isn’t sustainable.
no no..its abifgdet for players like cattermole and oviedo..ie guys involved in the first team..and the owners have made clear no one has to leave...so it is sustaianable now..
