Just get rid of him now, pointless keeping him until summer and going to a tribunal as we will get peanuts

Won’t sign a new deal so shouldn’t play and be sold club has to come first not the player, get a striker in and make him sit on the bench if we don’t sell him, saying he wants to stay but listening to his agent instead of himself

Maja owes Sunderland...gave him his chance stuck by him when having a lengthy injury

Whatever we got, if we could force him to move, we'd spend on a replacement......As long as he's scoring gerls we may as well keep him, I just think as the season goes on will he still put it in and risk injury and jeopardise his big move? I wouldn't ......

If he goes abroad his move will be signed and sealed now. He can sign a pre contract now.

How are the fans in general going to take this news if its confirmed by Donald?

Stay behind him and he continues to play? Or would he be benched until the end of the season and play a new signing ahead of him?

I'd rather he was just sold now tbh.
If he has signed a pre contract and the team dont want to buy him now, what can we do?

Promotion is more important than squeezing extra pennies out of a Maja sale. It's not a nice situation, but we have to suck it up and finish the job.

If he’s going to Germany I have absolutely no problem with him staying and playing for the rest of the season.

We’ve been saying for years that young British players need to go abroad to develop and we currently have a player in that position. He’s not going to a team that will potentially be one of our rivals next year, he’s going to experience a new culture and hopefully benefit from playing a different type of football. This move could be the making of him and we might be able to claim a major part in the development of yet another England international in a few years!

Your lot play ten men behind the ball in nearly every game but somebody manages to score against them

I called him out as a mag a good while ago and he disappeared. He's back now, probably been busy shouting at shops.
I am suspicious of most who hide their profile.

Aye same. I’d rather he go abroad than say play for bristol city who we could well be facing. It would be a right kick in the bollocks that. A move abroad is a good one for him.

Still wish we could have kept him but no chance now it seems.

I still don’t get why this time last year when it looked bleak we couldn’t have offered him a new two year deal just to tie him down. They knew he had ability so why let him go. He’d of signed it and on a hell of a lot less of a wage than he’s turned down.

If he's signed a pre-contract to go to Europe (germany) is he going to give 100% ?
My feeling is to move on, give Kimpioka more responsiblity.
Maja's goals have been important, but if he's leaving we need to look forward.

The Coleman regime did offer him and Asoro new deals, niether signed, would u of done

Why? If we get a replacement in fair enough, but who do you replace a player who's scored 14 league goals so far with?

John Marquis? Tom Eaves? Both have only really broken double figures this season and last and never scored at higher than this level. Similar age and goalscoring records to Wyke, who everyone seems to think isn't good enough.

Seems to me Maja is a cut above what would be available, can't see the point in peddling him and having to spend on a lesser replacement.

You can only sell if there’s a buyer he’s prepared to join, afraid club has lost control of this now

I don't think the club were ever in control of this situation.
They took over when Maja had a year left on his contract and both parties knew he could talk to other clubs in the new year.
We negotiated with his agent and acquiesced to every demand his agent made regarding wages, release clauses etc.
Then the agent stops returning phone calls from the club for a fortnight and that's when they put out the deadline for a decision.

From the moment they took over the control has always sat with Maja and his agent.

Blah blah blah etc etc
If he’s going to Germany he’s going for the cash, personally I couldn’t give a sh!t how he develops unless he’s doing it here for our benefit.

At the time probably aye, barely played a game and at a big club where they’d of been offering me a good chunk of change I’d of took it. If I was desperate to leave in the summer I’d of then just acted me self to get a move.

To be honest I don’t recall them offering maja a deal, I remember asoro. Not doubting you there mind.

At the same time, looking forward should be all around promotion this season. Maja playing gives us a much better chance.
