League 1 form tables

Based on last 10 games we are outside of the playoffs. Our performances have dropped theres no doubt, thankfully we generally draw games rather than losing. Hopefully we get ourselves back together soon to performances earlier in the season

The boys Barnsley are consistently making up points on us mind. Was hoping to put a run together to leave them behind us. We had 7 points on them and a game in hand at one point I think.

We have lost one of our games in hand though and are no better off as a result of it so we are worse off than we were before. We are still just behind though and the other game in hand may still yet help us as long as we start playing a bit better

Thought we drew our game in hand? The only game we have lost recently was Portsmouth and that wasn't it.

That’s a different point altogether.
We are 12th on current form and have earned less points than the teams around us therefore even though we can still go into a promotion place, we are not in a strong a position as we were 6 games ago.

More importantly perhaps is that those below us are all catching us up, I would not have said Charlton were auto promotion contenders but now they are etc etc

No guarantees, who says we haven’t peaked already? I think we are a shoe in for the play offs. Top 2, still debatable
, be interesting to see if the next couple of weeks bring in some new faces that give us the edge.

I see it this way, I don’t think we are any better than probably any of the top 6, we clearly are not good enough to run away with the league so top 2 if we bring in some quality or play offs it is imho

yes we have allowed the chasing pack to catch us but the top 2 haven't pulled away making it a scrap for the play offs. We are still in with a great shout of automatic promotion.

We need a striker and a midfielder though.

Or on the other hand...
- still unbeaten at home (staggering when you think of our home form in recent years)
- only lost twice all season (fewest in the division)
- strongest squad in the division
- one winnable game in hand from automatic promotion position
- key players missing in recent games

Glass half full marra.

Win on Saturday will completely change the picture as the defeat at Pompey drops out of consideration and we’ll be on 12 points from 6 games as against the current 9

Are injuries/suspensions taken into account on current form tho?

Potentially, marra:cool:

Couple of fresh faces in is needed to get us over the line, a lot of our young lads haven't played a full season of first team football and fatigue is showing.

An experienced forward and an attacking CM could make all the difference...that lad who Ross has on loan from Celtic wouldn't be a bad idea till the end of the season too.

The form tables say all that we already know - our form is patchy and we are getting worse. Yes other results have gone our way to some extent, but teams behind us are closing the gap and if we don't buck our ideas up it's play offs at best for us. Worse still we don't have a striker playing currently who's worthy of the name. The signing of someone to replace Maja will define our season and the club's track records of getting in strikers that aren't non-goal scoring donkeys is awful....so let's all start praying.
