he could have just watched last night night and thought I can sign my contract and play .or move and sit on the bench, and watch as Benji Kimpioka takes my place and makes a name for himself

He does look a canny prospect.we are seeing more and more "promising " young uns coming through our system. He and Mumba look decent and hope they stay around the first team.If Maja does go , could this lad step up?( hope we do learn from Majas contract situation which to be fair to Donald was inherited)The best thing at moment is seeing our Acadamey players progressing.HTL

That’s really a summary of the podcast and doesn’t tell us anything new, how long is a couple of days though, surely everything has to be resolved before the weekend

We'll never know what's really going on here. Maja seems loke a decent lad, but it may be atht his family / agent see him as their cash cow and want to see the money now. He may be having a job to convince them that staying here is the best thing for him ( and them).

There's a very good economic case for him staying. He could have a release clause if we don't get promoted, but if he goes up with us, he can show his worth in the Champo and then he would be worth big bucks. We put in a clause about a fat 'loyalty payment' as an incentive for him to sign up for three years, a big payrise on promotion, a release clause if we get a suitable offer, and an agreement for a sell-on clause in case he goes all the way.
The alternative for Josh is a move to a prem team where he might struggle at this stage, or warm the bench for a couple of years. The lad needs to think about career development as well as cash. (And so do his family and agent!)

We were walking to the game last night and talking quite openly about our opinions on the Maja situation - saying how he’d been offered what he asked for, how his agent was a shitehawk, and how I thought it was all bluffing on the agent’s part and that he didn’t have anything better lined up for Maja when we clocked Methven had been walking right next to us the whole time

Really? haha

I would guess that if the news is negative they will wait until after the Luton match to stop the fans turning on him.

As per my previous post I think if he does / has signed they would announce it ASAP to raise the morale for the match
