I don't actually enjoy watching him play that much. For the most part he's not really involved. Then he scores.
Strange kid who really could become a great or an utter flop. Hope his agent knows what he's doing ;)

Not sure what benefit pimping out Maja on SSN has had exactly. Everyone in the football world already knew he was coming into the last 6 months of a contract & scored ~15 goals this season. It wouldn’t be news to anyone in the game.

Total speculation of my part, but I suspect that the club meeting the agent's demands took him by surprise, especially if any German interest (the agent has a track record with this) wasn't paying much more. It's likely that the agent was trying to flush out concrete interest from other clubs, and giving the wage away as a starting point for salary expectations.

Did he get a good reception from the fans yesterday?
Yes

I disagree. I think the plan was to put an offer to the club that he didn’t think we’d match. When we matched it he shit himself because I don’t think any better offers are actually there for Maja regardless of what the agent is leaking to the press.

Otherwise why would Maja have made arrangements to sign the deal and why else would the agent ignore the club?

We're saying the same thing mate.
Hawking him on SSN after agreeing the deal and then renaging on it ends any discussion with SAFC because it completely ends the relationship with us.

Probably. But that's what contingency plans are for. And he's still here now. The ultimatum makes sense off we have offers for him. That meet our value. But we don't
That's my point. Deadline was set and past. Now the club can work with contingency plans and the clubs/players on this plan know about this. It's out in the open with time yet to make some moves

RR readers give their initial reactions to the situation developing between Sunderland and Josh Maja with regards to his contract - what’s the verdict on what is going on? Dear Roker Report, After reading Graham MacMillan-Mason’s piece on Maja I just wanted to dispute his point that there are only two options for the club for his future. Graham...

Roy hodgson when asked if he was interested in signing him

“I've never heard of him. I don't follow Sunderland and his name has not been mentioned to me. “

Absolute dinosaur

“Agents are a menace in modern football - it’s an issue Sunderland have faced in the recent past. But this fresh issue with Josh Maja’s deal is a worrying affair for club and fans alike”, writes Paddy Hollis. The recent saga with Josh Maja and his unsigned contract is nothing new to the footballing world. It is yet another instance of everyone’s...
