I was saying that pace isn't everything, and you do not need it to make it. And by the way, despite the keepers being better most (not all) of his goals this season have been pretty unsaveable.

I think maja has played superb. His goals have been very impressive... create space for himself and bang in the net. He won’t get that space higher up.

Maja was awful I’m thr championship... he scores for half a season in league 1 and you are mentioning him in the same sentence as berbatov?

I predict maja will be not even get 15 goals a season in the championship ... he won’t get the room to make space and the keepers are much better (apart from Camp) and he has no pace to rely on

He made 6 full appearances and 11 subs ffs :lol:

He wasn't exactly alone in being awful was he??

Wyke takes a lot of trouble off him, to the extent Maja was forever dropping into holes to feed off him.
.
On the other hand, you could argue that resulted in him going too deep and too wide? If that had been him in the positions Wyke failed to score from, he would probably have scored one or two.

Anyone actually listening to what’s going on?

He’s turned down an extension, not asked to leave. WE set the deadline, not him.

If everyone is so interested in reading between the lines, then is it not remotely possible we could offer him another deal and he will sign? Especially as he has stated ‘he wants to stay’.

All part of negotiations. I can absolutely guarantee he will be offered another deal if he’s not sold (any player will be sold if a good bid comes in) and that deal will be on increased terms.

Bit of positivity eh?

Oh and only a point away against top 6 charlton would’ve won something like 5 straight away games, sack Ross, sell the club, merge with mags.

Agree.

The deadline baffles me really, it's created a situation & now we are staying we are still trying to get him to stay even after the deadline

Hoi fella, less of the common sense posts there, your pissing on some other fella's fires there. Some will not be happy you have twisted on 20 rather than sticking.

Chance and positivity as opposed to Neagativity and Chaos! How very dare you! Fair points and optimistic as well. Here's hoping he stays time will tell.

The bloke/kid is as usual seeking attention.[/QUOTE

Good players make space, your judging him on what he is doing now. He is still learning his trade and improving skills, some go onto greater things a little later than others.

Vardy springs to mind immediately, but hei ho, if he moves to a better team, he will have other players at a higher skill level to back him. He has the gift and the knack to score goals, the current manager of Manchester United.

Said recently that he trained to become a better player and a better poacher and positional player by adapting the way he played. Others can do the same by adapting.

It will be interesting to follow Maja's progress but for now happy if he stays to help us achieve our objectives.

Think the club has to stick to the deadline it set and see if a replacement can be bought in this window, with potentially Josh also being sold in this window so it doesn’t drag on until the end of the season, plus we actually get some ££’s for him instead of losing him for nowt.

In the meantime while he wears the red and white he deserves our backing....

Josh Maja, ya knooooow.
His agent’s a fookin arsehole!!

where do you go though, when you meet the agents demands and the agent then turns them down.

You must be kidding marra! True SKP might not of been the quickest over 100m but he was electric over the first few yards at his peak and that's the most important thing for a goalscorer.
I just get the same feeling from maja when he is in those positions i think he will score. Its due to the way he brings a ball down its like its on a string

This is where I hope we are, with Maja's agent saying to him 'don't sign, just yet, there is another couple of grand a week in this deal'. I consider this to be a perfectly reasonable negotiation strategy on their part.

The club would be doing us no favours if we sell him in January. We should be looking to strengthen the front line and add to it if we can. If the club need the 5 or 6 million that much, then work harder at raising sponsorship, striking deals with other partners, developing our commercial prospects and generally raising the off-field profile of the club. Keep the boy if he doesn't want to leave. Obviously a different matter if Maja then forces the club's hand and asks to go in January. If he runs down his contract and leaves for free - and we have been promoted to the Championship, we should be looking to improve the front line anyway.
