yep. and he has been good for us..no indicaion he would be food for a tam at a higher level..So? That’s where we are.

if maja is not sold in the window, then we must make peace with the player, so we can get some benefit from him.
casting players to youth players has never ended well. Rodwell for example
The point you make is that some mythical other would’ve scored 15 goals and consequently got us those points. I know no one currently at Sunderland who could do that.Nobody knows, that's the point I'm making.
Like yourself and I'd guess the vast majority on here I'd prefer to keep the lad as we're geared up to help him succeed and he's grabbing vital goals for us. If he leaves we'd probably have to rethink our team plan, a right pisser at this stage of the season.
This. Had some people yesterday saying it's the end of our season ffs.there are loads of players in double figures for the season in this league..we could buy any of them..most play for teams that are worse than ours..
It is, your reference to Rhodes reminded me, I thought I had the right time frame in my head, but couldn’t quite believe it, so I admit I googled it to make sure I was right. It’s scaryJust eight years....amazing that.

Daftyhe has done irt at league one level only...
going up will make little or no difference financially that we can know about now...no difference to para money or tv money..im sure we will gtet a bit more in sponsorship and that..but also some o f the players are on deals with pay riases fopr promotion.i syill hope we keep him until the summer though..He would be a huge loss at this stage of the season imho. He’s still scoring goals, when we are not playing great. If we can’t find equivalent or hopefully better, I’d continue to play him.
I’d love to know what the financial implications would be, if we keep him and took a loss at the end of season, but went up with the help of his goals.
Versus taking 2 million now, and missing out on going up?
DaftyCan you remember Jordan Rhodes?
He scored 23 goals in L1 at the same age as Maja and was found wanting at levels above L1. Maja’s all round game is poor. He’s absolutely no threat in the air whatsoever, has little pace and is physically as weak as piss.

Yes but in this ridiculous hypothetical situation we would’ve signed someone else. The point you make is that some mythical other would’ve scored 15 goals and consequently got us those points. I know no one currently at Sunderland who could do that.

Yep.And yet both could, and probably will be in the same league next season![]()
Dafty
He's got superb close control; ball at feet in the box and he's deadly. He also shows quick feet regularly outside the box particularly when crowded by other players. This is his attribute.I wouldn’t offer a penny more for the reasons I outlined in an earlier post.
That’s your opinion then. You obviously haven’t thought things through though.
simlar profile to jordan rhodes for me..good finsiher...Roasted at a higher level?
Not hypothetical fact. Maja wasn’t supposed to be first choice. We did sign a forward. He was injured.Yes but in this ridiculous hypothetical situation we would’ve signed someone else.
Dele Alli?Same age, same league....what’s daft about that comparison?
Sun say he's worth £5m and we could spend his £10k/week wages on someone else so what do you think ?He would be a huge loss at this stage of the season imho. He’s still scoring goals, when we are not playing great. If we can’t find equivalent or hopefully better, I’d continue to play him.

thats what i thiuyght tbh but Grumpy Old Man reckons teams get the poara or the TV money..not both..and we get the para..the same amount of para whtehr we go up or not..The mags made around £5.5m in tv money in the Championship so it is a factor.
I'd take that and let Ross spend the lot.Sun say he's worth £5m and we could spend his £10k/week wages on someone else so what do you think ?
