Surely only the real stars, the ones they know are heading to the first team rapidly, people like Phil Foden etc? Lets not start pretending Maja is anywhere near that standard of player
he isnt at that level no..but he is ahead of a lot of acemedy players in that he has played league football dozens of times..

i think he would make the bench at palace or huddersfield, at leastinitially as thry need all the people they can get..

If he is gonna sign for Huddersfield he might as well stay here. We will be in the same division next season and they are a little club currently batting waaaaaaaaay above their average. Huddersfield will be back in the Champs next season where they will stay.

are we going up like? i think be could end up at palace..they have basically no strikers,,,and he is a asouth london boy..

Mate, if he is picked I hope he scores and has a blinded. Misses a sitter and plays his own, causual way, it will turn quickly

My thoughts exactly.....There is also the issue that some, even a small number will get on his back. He has benefited so far from our fans huge support, not sure how he will cope with having to try and do his job while hearing criticism from the terraces for the first time. I hope nobody does turn on him although given the amount of drinking that will go on some will, his reaction will be interesting.

I have no problem with him accepting the dollar. I think it’s pathetic the way he has handled it and hid behind his agents. This is his decision so have some balls to come out and say it.

Footballer in being a Fanny shocka.....

He is not good enough for the Prem.....If they have no strikers then surely they need someone who is read now, not someone new to first team football and who has played half a season in league 1.........Imagine if when we were in the Prem if our solution to a lack of strikers was a kid from league 1 who had half a season under his belt man, this place would explode.

unless he scores 15 goals for them

If he went into a Prem first team for the rest of the season he would do well to score 2. He is a prospect but seriously, he would be eaten alive by the vast majority of Prem defences, they would have the lad for breakfast.

Of course. That's how the majority work even still though. Maja should be absolutely sure he wants to be here, continue to score goals and develop as a player. Surely even he can see this? The fact the offer allegedly had a get out of jail release clause if we don't get promoted should be more than enough for him to make his own mind up.
Nobody knows what the agent said to Maja... for all we know, it could have been, 'hang fire for a couple of weeks, to see if something you'd like better comes along' or 'hang fire, I reckon there's another £2k a week in the deal, for you'. I have no idea how smart Josh is, how fiscally prudent or experienced he is or how much he trusts the judgment of his agent. My guess is that, neither does anyone else. Alternatively, Josh might think the grass is greener, elsewhere and is keen to sod off, or, again alternatively, his agent is exploiting him.

I think that the timing sucks, though (although it may be the case that there's no such thing as the right time for something like this).

i doubt he would be the only striker they sign...but i agree with your summary..

They also wouldn't buy him imo, maybe I'm wrong but I think itlli be a championship club who would take him, forest maybe who need something to improve and who can invest hoping to sell on for a profit.
he might not get more money if his best offer is mid championship..

he would have to try to make the bench first..vastly different level to anything he has experienced..paace and huddersfield struggle to create chances...when he was in the championship with a team that struggled to create chanaces his record is one in 17..premier league is bigger again..

This is my bet.

By the way no chance he goes to Newcastle as per article in The S*n. This smacks of a desperate newspaper after "click bait" and also an agent desperate to sell the name of his client in the media.

But his agent would get a lump sum from the transfer. :)

ffs my tongue was firmly in cheek.

That said I think people underestimate how good his first touch is

Who would have scored?

Nobody knows, that's the point I'm making.

Like yourself and I'd guess the vast majority on here I'd prefer to keep the lad as we're geared up to help him succeed and he's grabbing vital goals for us. If he leaves we'd probably have to rethink our team plan, a right pisser at this stage of the season.

Lot of money for someone who realistically will be playing under 23s football at virtually every Prem club, he wouldnt even make the bench, hes just not ready.

They wouldn’t buy him to play now. More likely loan him out for the rest of this season. He’d be a no brainier for a top club with money. They can’t lose because even if he didn’t quite cut it, they’d still make a good profit even solely based on what he’s done for us this season. Future sale value could be £5-10m, it could be £40-50m. Or even if it was nothing, they can afford to take the chance
