It was Maja's agent who started this. I don't have any issue with this being in the public domain. If what the club are saying is true i.e. we offered what the player and agent asked, the player wanted to sign, but, the agent told him 'don't sign', there's only one person who looks like a bastard... Josh Maja's agent.

There is no way Majas agent would have gone to sky and rejected the deal without speaking to Maja first.

The agent is taking the brunt of it like any decent agent would so the player comes off looking like the good guy still.

They've had their heads turned by a better offer and are going with the money. We move on find a replacement and still get promoted.

Sounds like Donald has tried to call Maja's bluff and it's backfired. Also, airing our dirty laundry in public doesn't sit right with me.

Totally agree. Contract could have been turned down behind the scenes and an agreement made to park the whole thing until the summer. Or improve the terms. Or sell him. Why does anybody outside of the discussions need to know what’s going on?

Yep it’s just come out this morning,

I suggested that, was told I was patronising
It's definitely not patronising. He's obviously very passionate about supporting the lads but it just seems to get him into constant arguments with people. There isn't any debate. That can't be enjoyable.

It was the club who started the going public by announcing the deadline. Can't blame Maja/agent for responding in public, although clearly they should have told the club first. Really hope he still signs but have a feeling this could escalate.

He can’t take on board anybody else’s views, he just can’t, all he does is get angry, say they are wrong, call them WUMS or resort to abuse. It can’t be healthy

Thanks Janey! Saved me a few hours there.
Thought it might :)

You're creating straw man arguments... I'm pretty sure that I haven't claimed the agent did anything without speaking to Josh, first.

You're also speculating wildly and attempting to pass this speculation off as fact. For all you know, the agent may be on a fishing trip, to see if there is a better option. Speaking to Sky is, for my money, indicative of a fishing trip, rather than anything else.

@The Rat

Why a do you keep saying we offered 7k? You don't know that.

Also the only reports we have are that we offered him what he wanted, which you've been saying for weeks we should. Now that's not good enough for you.
Also why do people who disagree with you not want what's best for the club? It's a very ignorant and some mighty say arrogant viewpoint you take.

He’s the sort of person I was on about yesterday who has to be first with the “this is shit and all the club’s fault” shite so that he might get to say “I told you so” once in a blue moon. It’s sad.

The deadline was made public to generate interest from other clubs.

There’s no way the club will want to go to a tribunal. That’s why they’ve gone public with it.

given the contract has been on the table, unsigned, for a few months means they know it’s unlikely he will sign, so they’ve forced the issue. Clubs who need a striker are aware of his availability early in the window. More interest - higher bids.

So if you agree the agent would have spoken to Maja then it's obvious Maja didn't want that deal neither and it's not all the agents fault.

Both Maja and the agent are on a fishing trip stringing the club along. Both can fuck off if you ask me, we're bigger and better than both of them.

Bit sad that we give him a chance, and he's doing this...

Spot on.
I also don’t think he should play while this is going on for two reasons:
1) there’s no way his head can be right and fully focussed after yesterday
2) his team mates know he wants away so it is completely disrespectful to play him ahead of players who actually want to be here
Tend to agree with this, but depends what’s being said in private.
Only Jack Ross can call it - we’ve got to back it either way imo.
