i think the fact that SD has asked RR to arrange a podcast for monday means he has summat to say , or discuss, about this current situation. i'll wait to hear his comments then before judging him, maja , sky or the agent, regardless of tomorrows game. i hope he plays, cos if he doesn't and we get beat, he becomes the scapegoat.

Maja hasn’t told anyone at the club that he doesn’t want to sign as far as I can see, in fact quite the opposite, only that his agent told him not to. He’s 20 year old and clearly doesn’t know what to do, while listening to his advisors (rightly or wrongly).

He needs to make a decision on his future and agent. If he feels the agent is right then best of luck. If he has a desire to continue his development with us and his heart his here, he needs to get respresentation that is more in tune and aligned to him.

Let’s see what happens.

And if he does and we lose he didn’t try. Heart was elsewhere etc.

I’d tell him he is not playing until he it’s sorted either way and his agent calls the club to sort it.

That's ridiculous man, it's like fielding ten men. Who can say how many goals someone else may have scored? Take out the keeper and we've have conceded another twenty goals. :)
We've got some idea... Sinclair scored the best part of fuck all in the games he's played. If he'd played in the ones Maja had, he'd have scored the best part of fuck all in them, too.

Not sure why there's too much debate about this tbh - all seems fairly clear to me.

• Talks have been going on for a while and we've seemingly met what Maja has asked for.
• Deadline was obviously set early in the transfer window to give us time to sell him and buy a replacement in January if he didn't sign the contract. There's no way they'll let this go to a tribunal at the end of the season.
• We'll be trying to flog him now. Maja may well decide he wants to stay, and we'll be hoping he does.

Regardless of what people have said, however, if Maja wanted to stay he'd have signed – his agent can't force him to do something against his will. Don't buy this 'Maja is blameless' thing at all.

It's a shame, as he's a very promising player who's done excellently this season, but the club evidently can't risk losing out on 2/3/4 million now.
Spot on.
I also don’t think he should play while this is going on for two reasons:
1) there’s no way his head can be right and fully focussed after yesterday
2) his team mates know he wants away so it is completely disrespectful to play him ahead of players who actually want to be here

Don't patronise me :lol::oops:

Genuine advice, take a step back, and actually judge things case by case instead of blindly becoming defensive about the owners

If our high ceiling is 7k for the top goalscoring teenager in europe, then its pretty low.
Please yourself if you think I was patronising then you don’t know me at all.

We're all having a guess at what Maja wants. The club reckon he wants to stay and was on the verge of signing until his agent stuck his oar in. That might be true, it might not. We might never know what the true story is, but, it's as likely that his agent is a devious, slimy, manipulative bastard as Maja doesn't want to stay, for my money.

No wonder his agent wants a move - hes not going to be earning a mint from the shower of shit on his books!!
Interesting that Aribo is also on their books, a player Maja clearly knew judging by the last time we played Charlton. Also interesting that Aribo has been linked with a move when his contract finishes this summer, including with moves abroad.

I asked the poster, who claimed there were loads of forwards on less than 10k a week and he named Billy Sharp

I'd certainly be offering Maja lot more than £7k a week, even from a business sense, we could sell him for loads

The whole thing and logic makes no sense to me

I get that, and its a fair point

But we rarely have young English players performing this well, he is an asset who is going to go up in value

We need to stop comparing about how much a league one player earns, which loads are, its not relevant.

Think longer term, few posters said if we paid him 10k a week, then he would be on more than a lot of championship strikers

Which I don't agree with, which was my response to that.
You said give him what he wants. We gave what him and his agent wanted

More details from rr I’m guessing from the don, 10k a week, pay rise should we go up, release clause should we not. Seems fair deal to me.

He seemed so certain about it. And angry. How can someone be angry about something they have fabricated. Very unusual.
Its just the way he is, and he will have made the 7k reality. Problem is he’s being saying for weeks, give him what he wants. Now it seems he’s been offered what he wants and is still not signing he’s looking for something else.

The release clause makes it even fairer and is something I could imagine his agent asking for, I wouldn’t necessarily have a problem with that either. Not signing it seems even dafter if there is a release clause.

£10k a week with a rise if we get promoted and a release clause if we don’t. Surely nobody can say that’s not a good deal...surely
It's not a good deal if someone else is willing to pay £20k per week for example. Looks like a decent deal to me though, not that I know anywhere near enough to judge.
I am not sure about this leaking details of contract offers out though, what purpose does it serve?
