I could have when I was 19 but did me ankle in / focused on the studies.

Strictly a keeper now at age 35, but I would have kept us up in the Champo last season, literally no doubt about it.
Me mam had more chance of keeping us in the championship in goal than the keepers we had, she’s 8o, has had hip and knee replacements and is riddled with arthritis

This is the bit that annoys me the most I think. Forget all the arguements about the rights and wrongs of the owners and of the Twitter stuff, and whether we should have offered him more,
Yesterday he told Jack Ross, a manager who has spoken publically all week, about the positive relationship they had, who put his trust in him and gave him his chance to score the goals he’s scored he was signing. Today he’s changed his mind.

The trust issue is there now for Ross. I'm not sure I'd trust Maja if I was Ross. Also it will no doubt affect the trust of his team mates. The really annoying thing we dont need distractions like this going into games against promotion rivals. I think this has the chance to really put a dent into our season. Bet the team hotel is fun tonight!

So if you don’t defend Maja you aren’t a Sunderland supporter at heart... okay
Yes that makes sense

It won’t bother team mates as it’s normal for players not to agree new deals and Ross has already said it won’t affect anything with him.

Who’s put it in the public domain?
Stewart Donald has.
No comment from Maja
No comment from agent
No comment from sky sports
Only positive comment from jack Ross?
Who is responsible for what’s happened in the public domain today? I’d have thought it’s pretty obvious

Did you watch the News at all with the Reporter? I'd have thought it was obvious as do the majority on here who hold a differing viewpoint to yourself!

Odd that!

depends if another club has said "we can beat that offer" since the agent gave the figure to SAFC, or if the agent played that figure to get more from other clubs.

As I said I suspect the agent has put an offer to Sunderland thinking we wouldn’t match it and then we did meaning he had to call our bluff.

The next step will be trying to convince another club he’s worth whatever he said to us.

That’s a huge issue for me too, the players will know the full story. It could work a couple of ways, if the spirit in the squad is as strong as is claimed and they think Maja has been a bit of a snide then they might want to prove a point.
If they think he’s been shafted.....

Wow what reply why do people spout shite when you have an alternative opinion
When its as clear as day Maja and his agent have fcked the club there is no need for an 'alternative opinion' unless your perspective is not in the best interests of the club. That is fine to hold that view but please drop the pretence that you have the best interests of SAFC at heart.

No I don’t, but if the club hadn’t gone public regarding the deadline in the first place, do I think we’d have had a better chance of keeping him until the summer? Absolutely I do, yes.

He is contracted for the next six months The club sell or they don't. The choice is the Club's,

I'll leave it up to Jack. If Jack thinks his head is right and he's going to play the way he has been, that's enough for me. H'es a big enough man not to let fans sway his selection decisions.
This for me, or if his head's gone give him the weekend off (he'll have to get used to that at any club that's going to offer him big money as he ain't going to be a first teamer).
Either way, Monday morning in the office, if he won't sign peddle him for the good of the club, both financially and for team unity.

I’d be much more pissed off with Maja if I was Jack Ross
Agreed, I really feel for Ross, he has publicly waxed lyrical about the relationship between him and the player, almost a fatherly mature guidance type role, and Maja has chucked it back in his face. Again yes I know it’s his agent but Maja has certainly not covered himself in glory. I have posted elsewhere, I don’t want to see him in a Sunderland shirt again.

Give him what he wants
We did and his agent had the protocol to inform sky sports he won’t sign.
