Agree to an extent, however if the agent has been contacted by say Tottenham or Man City or arsenal for example then he also has to do the ‘right thing’ by the player. He might not have said ‘don’t sign’ just hold on as there are other options. Who knows? If he signs for a big club fair enough, if he signs for smaller club in a higher division, deserves all the stick he gets

Yet the agent informed ssn and not the club? At least have the honesty to tell the club he wasn’t signing - if thats because he has a much better offer then fair enough

It's what happens when you're not playing top level too. Coventry lost Maddison for buttons then he moved for 25 mill to Leicester.

Sooner we get out of their small time environment the better. We are losing a number of highly rated youngsters, both at academy level & first team level. Terrible really
This, it's imperative we go up this season because if we don't we lose all our decent players and are left with L1 journeymen plus Cattermole and Oviedo.

What we don’t know is what prompted them to set this deadline. It’s not unreasonable to criticise the owners but before you know the facts it’s a bit of a stab in the dark.

We have owners who are forthright and open in everything they can realistically share - I for one applaud them for that.

Even if it is sometimes detrimental to what happens on the park?

Whats going on? Will someone give me a summary?

We approached him to negotiate a new contract.
We negotiated a new contract with his agent.
We offered him what he requested.
Maja sought out Ross specifically to tell him he was going to sign the new contract.
Less than 24 hours later the first inkling the club has that things have changed is when they find out from f***ing Sky that he's not signing the contract because the agent has contacted them first totbriadcasb his availability without having the courtesy to at least tell us first.

No. The situation this week was created by Stewart. A public deadline was set. Now he’s felt he has had to respond when it has landed and has done so emotively. If the deadline hasn’t passed, what are the repercussions? Is he now transfer listed? Is the offer revoked? Or is the public posturing deadline being revoked and they’re still working on getting the deal done?

This situation could have been avoided. Offer him a contract, ask for a final answer in private. If terms weren’t agreed by that date then begin searching for replacements and ei publically announce Maja will be leaving either in January or June. This has been shoddy.
Sell him now and bring someone else in otherwise he goes for coppers in the summer lets also hope that when he moves he breaks his leg first game for his new team

Why?

Basically he had to announce something because he set an unnecessary week long deadline.

Because he wants to put his version of events out so that people are aware of the club's take on it. Some are having difficulty getting their heads around the fact that the players don't run this club any more.

Agree fully. Terribly managed by our club. Not condoning Maja and his agent but spouting crap on Twitter is no different than spouting crap on Sky fundamentally.

Don’t remember Quinn ever spouting off in the media like this. Absolute joke and makes us look worse than them lot up the road
Leave him alone man.Do ye want the Yank back ?

Donald wanted to keep it in house. The agent went public. Fuck all to do with Donald or the club.

Unfortunately football is run by Sky TV and parasitises. (And money grabbing footballers)
Can't blame anyone really, just the way it is for all clubs. Top and bottom.

Fuck's sake. There's no way we're going up without Maja.

Well it sounds like the deadline has passed but we are still going to try and convince him to convince his agent to let him sign his contract. So really nothing has changed but its all now being played out publicly & we've tried to shame his agent.

Also sounds like he'll still be playing for ha seeing as SD has asked to stay off his back.

you cant blame him for moving to better positioned club for more money. Its a short career that can end due to one injury. You can blame him for the way he has gone about it., dragging it on and saying one thing and doing another.

We carry on with wyke up front and honeyman playing off him. Stick Maja in the u18 and let him languish there for the rest of the season.
What's the point in that?

We play him until he leaves as long as his attitude is alright.
