Josh Maja update. Yesterday Josh asked to see Jack to say he will sign. Today I got a call from Sky TV saying he won't sign. Josh advised his agent has said don't sign but no courtesy to tell the club - Also we offered what the agent indicated!!! Busy January ahead

Only because they've set up this whole deadline stuff. Could have just let him get on with it and play the contract out. He's been fantastic for us. Instead we're playing his contract talks out in public & set the deadline on the eve of a big game. It's mental
 
Maja doesn’t have to take the advice of his agent nor can an agent prevent him from putting pen to paper. If he actually wanted to stay he could easily do so.

Telling the manager one thing and doing the other makes him just as complicit.

We could just replace him in the summer. We don't have to sell him this month. The majority of players play their contracts out in lower league.

not if its a final offer from us. Yes might get more elsewhere but agent thinking short term and for his own interests. football is not all about £££. Hopefully Maja will see that he has the opportunity to play and score in mens football. Goes to a decent championship/premier league side and he's a squad player/u23 player. We should hopefully be in championship next season anyway!

Grossly unprofessional from our owner. Comes across like that idiot on the office and has the professionalism of Mike Ashley
 
I think most people will have expected this. If he was going to sign, he would have done so weeks ago. If he is sold this month hopefully we can bring someone who is decent to replace him.

Same as if we got someone in assuming he wasn't going to sign and then he decided on Feb 1st to sign the contract and we then went over what we wanted/could spend on wages. The club done the correct thing by setting a deadline.
