Are you seriously for real??? This is football we re talking about. Right now Maja is a footballing asset and commodity. Your incredibly naive if you think that's the case. The club will seek to get the maximum return they can on Maja especially given our financial and league position. If he's not prepared to commit to a new contract at the club its common sense the cub will cash in to the highest extent. As far as Maja having any desire as to where he goes, he can only do that by not agree terms at whatever club he either fancy or doesn't. If SAFC accept any clubs offer then he's free to talk to them. If he refuses their offer, in an attempt to run down his contract that makes his position at the club untenable and his popularity at the club will plummet.

Is he the future? We could hope so but last season would suggest otherwise.

Granted he's matured and players develop at different times and at different rates. At the moment he's scoring goals, if someone had offered us 2 million last season would you have taken it? I have my doubts as to whether he has the ability to see us through the championship. Asoro isn't exactly lighting them up and he was ahead of Maja in the selection pecking order for most of the season.

Cant have a greedy agent without a greedy player, which is perhaps being unkind to Maja. I think his "problem" is he knows he can get higher wages if he moves on from us. I think if we could guarantee championship football next season he would be tempted to stay, as if he proves himself in that league his value and earnings potential would increase.

I would strongly suggest you check back at the owners recent podcasts and actually Listen to them!! He's still classed as an academy player because of his age (even though he is not a product of our academy )

We have to plan for the future regardless of this deadline. The deadline, unless it’s to get rid of him as soon as possible is meaningless.

Yep in the ideal world, unfortunately by then he's run his contract down and we no longer may have a saleable asset... The club have set this timed ultimatum for a reason. I seriously can't believe people can't see this.

In an ideal world that would be fab, trouble is allowing him to run down his contract in the summer would leave the club with a worthless player and because he would be out of contract he could demand higher wages for any club making an approach.

Not sure about your greedy agent comment. I think the world of football is littered with vulnerable players, with their heads being turned by greedy agents. It's a case of a pound in the hand for him,isn't it. If he moves now to a Championship club,or even PL club,he gets a more lucrative contract which is secure. If he stays with us,he has the promise of a lucrative contract,but no guarantee. It's my belief that in those circumstances the people who are advising him will want to cash in now.

Capping how much money an agent makes from a transfer might mean they actually think about what is best for their client from a footballing perspective instead of just going for the highest offer all the time.
 
His first touch, finishing, composure and technique are too good for this league already. If I were in a higher league and looking at him I'd be a bit concerned about his lack of pace and whether at the moment he'd be a bit of a luxury player. For me he'd be good at the top end of the table, not so much at the bottom.

1.The club CAN just sell him if their valuation is met, as they have now set him the valuation his refusal to sign will be seen as a sign he wants to go.

2. They can't wait till the summer by which time he's run down his contract and he's worth nowt. Furthermore as a free agant he will be able to demand higher wages from potential suiters. Personally I think he's been advised to TRY and run down his contract that would be ideal for his agent.

I'm not sure the wage cuts would have applied to lower earners but even then it's unlikely a double reduction would have applied to Maja when senior players were hit only once. As I say I think the £600 pw figure is implausible although I understand you'd have some confidence in the source based on previous experience.
