My wife is about six months older than me. Ooooh, look at me dating an older woman. Lol.

BUT my father-in-law was 12 years older than my mother-in-law. They seemed to have gotten along fine, but as he got older, her role seemed to be more of a caregiver than a wife. Not a whole lot of interaction.

My dad is a year older than my mom.

13 years between me and Mrs S and it works great for us. The very first time I met her dad it was a little frosty but when we got to know each other more all was perfectly fine. Have our young daughter in our lives now and it's as perfect as we could have imagined.

Forget numbers it's about people.

Snap to all of this except I never met her Da till we’d been going together for ages and he came over from Ghana on business. Nice bloke. In fact I’ve only met him three times. Then, our wedding, and a couple of years later when we went to Ghana. He’s a nice bloke and as some of his other bairns have made crap choices in partners I think he was just relieved to learn our lass was paired up with someone [relatively] sane and stable.

My dad is a year older than my mom.

It’s “mAm” round these parts sonny, unless you want to be taken for some kind of southern ponce. Or worse still, a bloody foreigner.

Over SE Asia way, most expat older guys are with 20 or 30 years old women, which you do think is strange, but it's really not. Even within their own culture, some see older men as dependable, more experience, financially sound and not likely to do a runner, as with younger guys. Actually in Vietnam, its quite rare that women marry anyone below their age.

I have always had younger partners up to 8 yrs younger. But my current partner of 9yrs is 8 older than me.

TBH if you didn't know she looks younger than me!!

Her "kids" are 32 and 25 mine are 9 and 12. But works fine.

Everyone is different I suppose.
My dad (78) is married to a 50 year old, they've been together 10 years and I'm grateful the onus isn't on me to put him in a home now.

It's a bit creepy for me when older blokes are with 18 year olds, it's all a bit Thailand.

i were 24 when i met her indoors and it was a fortnight before her 18th. 22 year later and we`re still there so it can work.

Probably about the same maturity as mentioned.

ooh god no. I`m still not that mature

My ex was 7 years older than me, and I am 30

I preferred it like, less bullshit, she knew what she wanted

Still finished me like

but can't knock her for that

I am not sure I could go out with a lass 10 years younger than me like some on here, it would be f***ing mint in the short term like, just not long term

A lot of lasses go for older blokes if they want looked after in my opinion.

I was in a bar this Saturday and flirted a bit the bartender - she put her name and phone number on the receipt and we're having lunch tomorrow. I'm 47 and I'm guessing she's half my age. She didn't seem to me to need looking after - on the contrary I think she liked the idea of being in charge.
