Spot on Rocky! We’re almost unique in that if we’re supplying the goods, we can satisfy ever increasing demand over and above our current capacity, at very little relative cost.
If it’s happening on the field, it’ll happen off it! I’ve said it before on here... we’re the envy of all but a very few clubs... even now, in our current position!

Relax man, dream a little!
We are probably uniquely placed in this country to easily and cheaply expand and adopt a German aproach.

Other clubs including our nearest and dearest would love to be in our position.

If we get anywhere near a position to expand we should do it. Let kids in for next to nowt and we are building the Club for decades to come.

The new owners are aware of the potential. If Bob Murray had listened to the doom mongers and glass half fullers on here we would still be at Roker Park with a sub 20,000 capacity because that is all we needed at the time.

The potential is there.

Spot on marra, and I believe the new owners are well aware of the potential!

Someone did an internal shot a few years ago, looked class.
Think the actual final figure was 70K

Imagine that, but all the way round.

I always wished they'd brick those white corrugated sections in so match the front.

I don't think you understand construction mate if you think that could be done. Clearly it COULD be done, but we could probably buy a current England player and then some for what it would cost. Brickwork needs a foundation and that cladding is hanging off the steel work. You cannot hang brickwork off steel work, especially when the steel work was not designed for that in the first place.

Take a look at other grounds and ours is not so different really.

And what happens if we hit tough times that we inevitably would hit? Instead of playing in from of 20,000 empty seats we'd be playing in front on 40,000 empty seats. That'd be good. It would be awful for the hardcore.

It's total pie in the sky stuff. Let's concentrate on getting the full ground open first.

Half empty or half full?

What about 65,000 in the SOL and the place rocking?

I think the new owners have some ambition. Thankfully more than some negative fckers on here

It's absolutely nothing to do with being negative. It's being realistic as to what a sensible long term capacity for the club would be.
We are uniquely placed in this country to extend the ground easily and cheaply with a fan based that hasnt been truly tested or tapped for over 60 years. By doing this it would also provide opportunites to get kids into the ground building our fan base for decades to come.

Thankfully the new owners fully understand this if not some fans.

Was there any models or images ever produced as to what the stadium will look like if it was ever fully extended?

Also does anybody think we will ever get there in the next 10-15 years?
63500 was the max for the sol..................we wont see that untill we get a proper sugar daddy!and thats unlikely unless some trillionare watches the netflix saga and takes on a vanity project...............Anybody hoping and waiting for the santi family to open their checkbooks to fund a ride to where we belong is going to be very dissapointed imho.....Its also very unlikely we would get planning permisson for a 63500 seater sol if the plans for the development of the surrounding area get under way first!

Good grief. There's absolutely no substance behind anything you say on this. There's plenty of opportunities for kids to watch us at next to no cost. Still got 18,000 empty seats.

Get man city's owners and we may need to consider things but that's not happening.

There is a ceiling to the numbers willing to watch dross..................and the ground capacity is ok for that now!if we were competing for a regular top 6 position in the prem we could fill a 55.000 ground ..but its a big leap to 63500 and that would need a title challenging team........there is just not enough football fans in the region!

I was just saying it would have looked better. I'm not suggesting they do it.
