Was there any models or images ever produced as to what the stadium will look like if it was ever fully extended?

Also does anybody think we will ever get there in the next 10-15 years?

highly unlikely, what were we averaging when we had those two 7th place finishes? can't imagine it was sell outs every game

The stadium was regularly pulling 45,000 and,at times, heading towards the 48,000 level during the two seventh finish seasons. Who knows what the future holds, but the good thing is we have the option to increase capacity at relatively little cost per seat,a point which I'm certain has not been lost on our new ownership.
Given the support for which this club is famous,I'd like to think that if performances on the pitch match the best in the land, the numbers will also be up there with the best. There's no reason to think otherwise.

I never understand people who keep saying that. In a few of our premier league seasons, our average was above that.

We averaged over 46k twice. Other than that, we've only had a few seasons where we were averaging about 1-1.5k over the original 42k. All in all, I don't think the extension was worth it from that point of view - given the remaining 12 seasons where we have been below 42k (sometimes significantly below). Aside from the costs of building it, there's also ongoing costs. Plus the detrimental effect on the atmosphere in the stadium.

That being said, Bob mentioned the other day in the podcast that the extension was necessary in order to be able to proceed with further developments around the stadium.

This seems to be asked fairly regularly. The original models of it being done are from the 90s and the images look poor quality. Someone on here did a photoshop of it which gave a better impression of it. If your good at searching on here you might find it.

It's also being said that the foundations are all in place so putting the extra stands in is a relatively small task, but the planning permission has expired. I doubt it would be a problem getting it re-issued though.

This is an interesting thought, there is quite a bit going on around the stadium these days, and the last thing we want is to have the same problem as the Mags have where further stadium expansion is impossible because of the surrounding buildings.

Think we would need a good 5 seasons in the top 8 to see game sell outs each week as it stands

We've been starved of winning football for so long, one top 10 finish would have us up to 45k in no time, particularly if we look like we can push on from there.

Not to be a pedant, but they were still building it during the first 7th place finish, so the average that season was only just above 41,000.

Only.

We had one of our worst averages in recent years (not including this season or last) when we did finish 10th. That's why Quinny started losing his blob.

Aye,my memory's a bit hazy now.:(Should have said it felt like 45k.;)

We've had a terrible time as fans over the last 10 years yet crowds have still been really impressive. Like the op said up the page give us a piece of what Man city fans have had over the last 10 years and the 66k ground would be full

Yes,but we weren't as desperate then to see some good football as we are now!:)
