Dunno what you mean. Black folks seem to go on about white privilege all the time. Do you think, given a choice, they’d rather black than white?

But mentioning haircuts is stupid. My daughter has had cornrows before. It’s a hairstyle. One colour can’t copywrite it.

Did pretty much the same about a year ago. Got rid of FB, Messenger, Twitter and Linkedin. Weirdly nobody gave a shit.

However your modern analogies just don't hold ground. The chinese film industry has thousands of films that contain all chinese actors using guns that originated over here in fight scenes, they shouldn't have to put white people in their movies. The matrix was produced in the vision of the people who invented it and if they want to use what they have learned of other cultures that is completely up to them.

The indian film industry produces wild west movies full of indian charachters.. not a single white person in sight. No one bats an eyelid. Nobody cares.

The truth is it's only ever cultural appropriation if you are white and that in itself is racist. Why are these people making movies anyway.... their cultures didn't produce the camera or the cinema. The whole thing is ridiculous.

That would be the same China that invented gunpowder and hence guns would it? You can do better than that surely. Plus Chinese movies tend to have Chinese casts as they are usually better at speaking Mandarin / Cantonese than foreigners for some strange reason.
 
Certain elements are going to tie themselves up in knots over cultural appropriation.

There are some very bad things that are also cultural - so it would be fair game to say those bad things are part of a particular culture.

The cinema wasn't invented in china, nor was the camera, why are they making movies anyway?

White people look like proper twats with cornrows mind. They don't suit dreadlocks either.
White privilage is a thing, Dave. It's been a thing for years. Don't forget that it wasn't that long ago that in the US and over here, black people were treated like second class citizens.
For some they still are
