Gigs back at sol

Would love it to be U2 but can’t see it, they’ll take a well earned break after this leg of tour.

If it is Muse, would they sell anywhere enough tickets ? They wouldn’t attract the casual fan who fancies a night out as most folk wouldn’t have even heard of them. They’d be the least known group to have played the SOL.

Checked before and Little Mix Tour is the end of next year and wouldnt fill stadia, Ariana is one though I mentioned a few pages back. She has a toue next year which American dates finish end of June but she's just doing 20k venues over there. Could maybr do stadiums here but would have to limit them so people travel

Exactly. I made a similar point earlier and used the Roses as an example.
Nostalgia is a massive seller these days, doesn’t matter if it’s groups of lads in Pretty Green or groups of lasses in Union Jack dresses, a day out on the piss having a drunken sing song pulls a crowd.

They are a big band, undoubtedly. But I stand by my point that of all the bands who’ve played the SOL, they’re the least known to the average man on the street. Do they have any songs that non fans would know for example ?
I just think they’re an underwhelming choice to anybody who fancies a night out at a gig.
I’ve nothing against Muse by the way.

Least known? Sold out Wembley shows and also headlined festival's including Glastonbury 3 times.

Muse are a pretty big band

My lass and her mates have already said they want tickets for the Spice Girls. I better be right about this otherwise she’s going to kill me :lol:

With the exception of Kings of Leon, the big gigs above took place pre-redevelopment of SJP. There is access issues getting onto the pitch since the redevelopment and the big shows can’t take place.

For Sheeran, just like for Rod Stewart, the stage was put in the corner which restricts attendance. It also means the stage is much smaller.

For KoL it was put on the side of the pitch, but it again resulted in a smaller capacity and is unsuitable for big take that style shows.

They all problems parking the 40 trucks which are required for the big shows.

I'm one of those:oops: and there's already a few of us well up for going if it is them. They last toured in 2008, sold out 17 shows at the O2 , first date sold out in 38 seconds. There's no doubt it would be a massive gig for the SoL.

Slightly less. If the gigs had been at the SOL, they could have sold 56,000 tickets. That’s a further 6000-8000 tickets at £80 per pop. In addition, they can shift the rigging etc much quicker.

Being honest, I’ll never understand why mags get so precious over the gig thing. Frankly it’s a good thing for T&W that we even attract these acts.
