Like previously mentioned, this is pure gross although it's interesting to see net spend (and outgoings) given some credibility when it suits.

Not sure if he is tearing up the league or not but my point (and over the last three years since we spent what we did in the Championship) is that spending money doesn't guarantee success. But it is a bit daft to lament us for buying the league a few years back and not a peep is said when you are outmuscling your rivals to an even greater extent this season.

If it comes to checking the quality of catering around the grounds in England I’ll be sure to tap into your knowledge though.

So if spending money doesn’t guarantee success then why are your lot shouting at shops when all Ashley and Rafa have done is, er, spend money?

Also criticising a club for spending £800k when you’re protesting because you’ve only spent £128 million looks a bit tragic. But then given the number of mags at our games you’ll be used to that.

It’s an irrelevant concept because players aren’t paid for in one lump but payments are split over the length of the contract. Doesn’t stop thick mags banging on about it though.
