How the fuck was it almost as bad as Moyes? His remit was to keep us up, he did it. Moyes picked up 24 points or whatever it was over a full season!
Some warped opinions on here about Sam, marra. His overall record at disaster recovery is outstanding. Takes things back to basics and builds on it very effectively.

Sam had about 8 less games man!!!!!!

I loved Allardyce's time at Sunderland ... why wouldn't I?

But I really don't buy this idea that he's only denied the top jobs because he's 'unfashionable'.

Do people really believe clubs organise their entire future on fashion?

Allardyce, Bruce, Pulis, etc get the kind of clubs that suit them imo.

Benitez has sunk to that level and will never manage a top side again.

You could say he was 'fashionable' but no top club will employ him based on that.

Allardyce is a much better manager than pulis

And on a different planet to Bruce

He's a very pragmatic manager he will go long with the ball wait for his counter attacks. He will just sit back wait for the counter and set pieces.

Wasnt that the way allardyce had the mags set up, yet the mags didn't take to him for that style of football.

Now why was that, football fans are very fickle

When Allardyce was at Newcastle they weren't long out of Europe and had just had a take over. They were aspiring to get back up to the top. Then the excitement sponge came in and killed the ambition and atmosphere.

Now Benitez is there they are a shite team that cannot financially compete with the rest of the league and many teams in the division below. They aspire to finish 17th and survive in the league, solid defensive football is a good start for that. Ironically this reason is why Allardyce has constantly gained employment.

Secondly Benitez has won the champions league and proven he knows what he is doing at the top level. Whereas Allardyce has erm ... got to the league cup final in 2004. I see what you're trying to do, but in reality it's a bit daft and not comparable.

Big sam's achievments with bolton is as good as anything in the modern game imo.

And irrelevant of that, what i witnessed him do to our team is the making of a top manager. Football is fast changing sport and just because he never got 'the big gigs' doesnt mean he isnt a top class manager.

What he was guiltt of at england id summise alot of other managers are guilty of aswell.

Wasnt sir alex accused of all sorts with asian betting syndicates.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I'm both happy and sad for you that you have such low standards. You must have had a very satisfied life as a football fan, sadly one empty of anything if any substance. A bit like Allardyce actually. Hated at every club he has been at who's fans actually want to win something.
