Not one shred of evidence to back this slur on the good name of Sunderland fans and the OP didnt even have the courage of his convictions to report the incident to the police or the stewards. Not only that but we have a full thread on the SMB board referring to white people as "gammons" and no one bats an eyelid.

It's absolutely embarrassing and I hear it all of the time. Those undercurrents are felt by the players and whilst it's easy to blame money for players not wanting to come North, I can help but think there's still a perception of Sunderland as a club. We need to be careful. I want us to be seen as a progressive, modern club as opposed to Brexit voting knuckle draggers.

There's an unfortunate truth in both of your posts here. There are some incredible people across the region and especially in tight knit pit and shipyard communities that have been shafted for decades. Coming from one qualifies me to have an opinion. The double edge sword is that there is a huge amount of ignorance and misinformed blame within these communities.
