Mike Ashley isn't stupid, maintaining the status quo is clearly his tactic, hence why the massive release fee clause is installed on his contract. On the other hand, if Rafa is sacked then there would be an uprising against the club, despite that his successor might even have them doing better than they are.

Had a 10minute chat with my mag supporting neighbour this morning before he went to their match. Canny lad to be fair, usually pretty sensible.

In that 10 minutes it was like a game of mag bingo.
